"So, I chose this one because I thought it looked really funny." Perfectly acceptable, carry on.

Fun Fact about Shoebills: They're actually quite friendly with humans. If a shoebill bows and shakes their head to you and you return the favor, they'll treat you like a friend.

A common misconception about Kiwis are that they’re defenseless. Ironically, they are extremely territorial and aggressive, and their talons are sharp enough to tear human skin. Most wildlife preservers wear thick clothing to prevent these injuries.

genuinely love this guy's vibes so much, like informative, deadpan and mildly confused at the same time

Flying foxes are actually adorable. A lot of people call them sky puppies.

A couple things you didn't mention about shoebills are that they are tolerant towards humans and greet by bowing, like fictional hippogriffs.

i feel like the platypus, pangolins, and the echidnas were made in a "custom animal creator" by like a 10 year old or smth

"Do you guys really wanna hear about flatworms?"

That's... Why I'm here.

forgot to mention that Knuckles from sonic, is a echidna

Actually, the golden languir monkey avoids humans not because of uncanny valley, but because humans used to hunt them and they naturally learned to avoid humans because of this.

42:47 Hi, Brazilian here! Actually, in the legend of the Pink River Dolphin, he doesn't hypnotize women; he wins them over simply by using his charisma and intelligence. The women choose to be with him of their own free will. When someone doesn't have a father, we say that person is "the son of the Dolphin" because of this legend.

45:05 the reason they walk upright is the same reason anteaters walk on the knuckles of the their front paws, because both use their claws to dig into insect homes, so they try not to walk on them to keep them sharp.

Kiwi Fact: SInce Ornithologists measure beak size from the nostrils to the tip of the beak they technically have one of the shortest beaks in the world! 😂

Pangolins are so cute, they look like they're little servants waiting on an invisible master with how they're postured.

26:45 "Do you really wanna hear about flatworms? I don't think so" Buddy we're half an hour into a weird animals iceberg, speak for yourself! (love the vid tho very cool stuff!)

addition to the shoebill: I heard that despite their menacing appearance, they are cool guys and will tolerate humans. Apparently you have to bow to them. Like a harry potter gryphon. They might even let people around their nests, which is very unusual for birds

9:25 There are over 1,400 species of bats out there, and only 3 of those species solely drink blood! Most bats eat fruit or, most commonly, insects, and are good pest controls, pollinators, and seed dispensers! Bats are a crucial part of our environment and deserve more love. 💜 Also, flying foxes are so stinkin cute. They're puppies that can fly!
