I mix 50/50 diesel fuel/waste oil, mix well, run it through a Scott blue shop towel and a spaghetti strainer , I have determined they are about 20 micron My set up is all gravity feed , {ALL I have strained will goes through a coffee filter }I have a small 12volt transfer pump from princess auto that uses .23 volts The reason i dilute the mix is for winter climate and easier filtering when thinned the heavier particles fall out of suspensions faster . I rinse the old plastic pails with diesel .tip and drip dry , then place in my 50 gal plastic outboard barrel wash with soap and water then take them to the recycling bin . the employee was surprised how clean they were and said yes no problem . I also have two 03 1.9 vw jetta wagons a diesel generator and a vevo diesel heater of none have i tried to run on straight waste oil . with the 50/50 mix they have all worked good. if you want to heat the oil in larger vallum use a good hot water tank they have two heaters with thermostats plug in and set temp hook up a on/off switch
I know you said you used to run 12valves, but do you have any experience or know anyone with experience with running wmo or a wmo/diesel blend in a 24 valve with a vp44? Planning on buying a centrifuge soon and just wanted to see what kind of luck guys had running a 24 valve on alternative fuels. Thanks for your time!
I’ve had good results settling my raw wvo for two weeks and then filtering and mixing with 20% fresh regular gas. That was a year round mix. What would you personally change about that other than adding a centrifuge?
