My siblings and I each had a childhood blanket my mom sew using this EPP method. I didn't know it was this labour intensive! I'm gonna go home and hug my mom now 🥺

Nice tutorial. I grew up in farm country in Illinois USA and learned to make Grandmothers flower garden quilts as a child. We did not have papers, we drew the shapes on fabric with a pencil and had a little 1/4 inch stick and drew on the seam allowance. When I got older I could just sew the 1/4 inch without drawing it as my Mom did. This was bout 60 years ago.

Milliner's needles were a game changer for my EPP, because the extra length makes them easier to get a grip on without putting extra strain on my joints. It was great to see you revisit all this so that people will find EPP.

You have awakened in something in me I didn’t know was there. Now I know what I will be doing for the rest of my life.

I love how you tested and showed the wrong way to cut your fabric in a shape that does not match the shape of the EPP paper. Very helpful teaching!

Fantastic Tutorial! Just beginning this beautiful way to quilt! So excited to start! Thanks so much Emma! You're a very good teacher!

Good hand-stitching channels are few and far between on YouTube. I don't make quilts, rather focusing on bags, hats, and clothes, but I'm pleased to have run across your channel to give me examples of different stitch and fabric ideas to experiment with in what I do make. Thank you.

Interesting to see another sequence of sewing. I sew the hexies to the central one first but I use a continuous thread all around the center. Then I do the sides. I’m going to try your sequence on my next one. I working on “Martha Washington’s Flower Garden” which puts the hexies in a diamond layout. I use Alex Anderson thread, 80 wt poly. It’s marvelous!

Always a good idea to review the basics. I thought I knew how to do this stitching but you reminded me of details I'd forgotten, and just watching you stitch showed me what I could improve. Thank you, Emma!

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction for paper piercing. I didn't know that they made pre cut papers, and I really love the idea of the hexagons. The whole process looks fun and doable.
