I’d really like to see someone make a video or videos with strategy on how to maximize each partner character’s friendship individually, as well as strategy for if you want to maximize everyone as much as possible

I've played this game for years and have even gotten the 3 fossilised bones, and this is the first time I've heard that there's gift combos and timing of the gift matters.

Wow I wasn't aware that them entering a room with you drops friendship until conflict is resolved. Amazing how they worked this system

I never knew it was that deep. As a kid, I would always remember what to give in repeated playthroughs but I never knew it went that deep with combos and locations

Wow. In all my time with Onimusha I never realised how complex the friendship and gifting system actually was. Maybe it's because when I played them on PS2 I wasn't really into looking up stuff for games online beyond maybe silly cheat codes, but I figured out who likes what gifts mostly by trial and error. I had no idea giving gifts to one person lost friendship points to another, nor did I know that your actions while they joined you for encounters affected the friendship. In fact I thought certain characters joining you for encounters was just a reward for giving them good gifts, never once considering I could potentially lose points with them by not clearing enemies. I learn so much about this series from you Danish, will definitely be keeping this video in mind when I get around to playing the remaster of Samurai's Destiny.

Must say though, I can now understand why it wasn't brought back in subsequent games. Could you imagine managing those friendship points in Dawn of Dreams? 😂

Back when Capcom were dropping bangers for the PS2, this game is fun.

That was good. However I wish you would've also included about the gifts they give to you, and how the ranks of those gifts are parallel to yours.  Get all 3 fossilized bones too (important for late game but not required). Also each one has a power and magic jewel to give plus at least 1 secret medicine. You want to milk all of these out of each character before leaving the town for the final time. Keep reloading save points to ensure you get the items you want.

Ah the best thing about this remaster is surely new dedicated content for it! Love to see it!

onimusha way of the sword made me play the games, I didnt want to be seen as a larper

I spent a few hours looking at guide in 1st town... And got frustrated by RNG gifts... Accidentally gave a Wrong gift but got magic jewel in return...reloaded save and tried 29 times to replicate but couldn't. So.. I realized. That it's best just to play game and not try to beat gifts system.
