A Rockford Buffet Transformation | Berkshire Collection Chapter Three
Walkwood Furniture
546 views
Function begins beneath the surface.
In Chapter Three of The Berkshire Collection, the Rockford Buffet is restored from its damaged support outward. A broken foot is reconstructed and blended into the surviving structure before the top, casework, hardware, and drawer interiors are addressed.
The top returns to its role as a working surface through controlled color and a restrained satin oil-based polyurethane. The casework and legs are refined separately with Briwax, preserving a quieter sheen around the carved and turned details. Original hardware is retained. Inside, the failed red lining is removed, and the top two drawers are fitted in the same cream botanical linen used on the Berkshire dining chairs.
