I can’t imagine being so mad that I didn’t get to see who a cartoon character’s father is to the point of calling the network and cursing them out

It’s pretty funny that the worst American Dad episode boils down to the audience not getting the joke

Honestly my least favorite Bob's Burgers episode is "Dr. Yap". Bob gets sexually harrassed for 22 minutes (all while Linda encourages it) then gets his tooth sadistically ripped out :/

The whole thing just makes Gale look bad, makes Linda look bad, is a terrible introduction to Dr Yap as a character, and the kids subplot isnt nearly entertaining enough to make up for it

Tbf, the one single funny bit of the Lady Gaga episode was when Moe (who is, by far, the saddest, most unhappy character in all of the Simpsons) asks Gaga if she can make him happy the way she did Lisa, but Gaga just replies with " i'm not a miracle worker ", and then Moe just gets hit by a random train.

When are we ever getting "the best episode in bad cartoon"

Family guy has went downhill when most jokes becomes "let me explain the joke right before i do said joke" humor and episodes where a character does or goes through a thing and someone is trying to help guide them and you spend like three different scenes of them going through the "Now that you're this, this is what you gotta do" type jokes. Like stop explaining the jokes and let them play out naturally!

Dude the splinter used to play so often on TV when I was a kid, I may have seen it more than episodes I actually enjoy

The worst Simpsons episodes  tend to be where guest stars take over.  Where the best is you don't even know they're in there. For example, the military academy episode with William dafoe

American fung was written as a metacommentary on network interference following a main writers exit. It's a protest piece

Ironically putting family guy into spanish probably improved your enjoyment of the show because you avoided the crutch they have become extremely over-reliant on: telling you the exact gag they are about to show you.

the elon musk simpsons episode is worse because it has all the same problems as lisa goes gaga but with elon musk instead

The Big Fairy Share Scare genuinely feels like a fanfiction written in crayon by a six year old kid who happens to be named Chloe Carmichael and for a six year old, that's fine; it's just them learning basic creativity but for an actual TV episode that was supposedly written by professional writers, it feels unbelievably lazy.

The only Bob's Burgers episode I didn't like was the one where Linda's sister kept trying to get Bob to cheat on his wife with her because she thought he was in love with her instead.

12:55 That's a lacrosse stick

pal for gary deserves a lower rating. not only does it mischaracterize spongebob, but it legit traumatized me so bad when i was a child that i had nightmares about the ep and my mom had to ban me from watching modern spongebob. for a while i was only allowed to watch seasons 1-4 because those were the seasons we had on dvd.

I think Bobs Burgers doesn’t have bad rating because of the different audience. I watch it because it’s a comfort show. The environment is overall more peaceful and wholesome in comparison to e.g Family Guy. Because Family Guy dances around dark humor and is overall ruthless, it creates a more chaotic, potentially hostile environment. We, people, tend to adjust our behaviour to the environment out of tendency so we fit in better.

Personally, I don't think the introduction of Chloe truly killed the show. Not even Sparky. It was already on borrowed time at that point, and the constant introduction of new characters poof onwards (who I quite like, but still) was just the desperate dying breaths to stay afloat.

Southpark was surprising because Jakovasuars is IMO above and away the worst episode which was made at a time where Matt and Trey were so sleep deprived they don’t even remember making the episode. It really shows too.

That American Dad episode is nowhere near as bad as its rating. The Chinese takeover joke is great.

I also agree that people really read too much into Gumball's "The Girlfriend" episode.

The entire episode was setup for the final joke. Darwin is supposed to be seen to be in the wrong for his silence. Gumball was the voice of reason and we were supposed to agree with Gumball because we, the audience, saw the damage caused due to Darwin's inaction.

However, at the climax, Jamie finally had the epiphany that Darwin correctly predicted. Not because of some moral or philosophical reason, but because Jamie is truly an idiot.

Immediately after Jamie figures it out, Darwin breaks his silence and repeats the lesson she just learned back to her. This makes Jamie feel patronized to and pisses her off enough to beat Darwin up.

That was the consequences of his actions. That was the joke. She's an idiot and Darwin just so happened to be right for the wrong reasons.

And then Gumball adds insult to injury by tossing Darwin's idealogy back at him, thus making Darwin feel rightfully stupid.

It was just a big joke.
