Wow. That movie pitch would have been incredible to have seen as a kid in the theatre.  Seeing the actual origin of He-Man on screen, Adam becoming He-Man for the first time, and Zodac not exactly being in his corner yet would be awesome. Also gives proper motivation for why Skeletor wants to conquer Grekyskull.  Can't wait to see the other pitches.

I always wondered why He-Man never got a dedicated origin episode as a kid. I never realized there was a whole movie planned! I really wish that first premise was made.

Reminds me of what Filmation would later do with Bravestarr.

I love that He-man starts with the main conflict already stablishd and ends with no resolution to said conflict. It feels like the real life strugle between those who can be trusted with power and only use it for the sake of others and those who want power in order to abuse it.

That movie pitch was awesome. And everything about how it was put together to show us was absolute class.

Nice summary and presentation of He-Man history, and it's amazing how durable this character and cast has become!

One of my favorite things about Masters was the lack of a definitive continuity. It gave us kids the tools and the freedom to use our imaginations to imagine the world however we wanted.

Thank you so much for this, James! What a great pitch that was. I can't wait to hear about the other two pitches.

I'm surprised you didn't note that the end of London's pitch leads naturally into the opening of "Diamond Ray of Disappearance." Skeletor's gathering of his forces makes more sense if they've been scattered across the universe.

But I agree that the absence of origins (or of an actual finale) is probably part of the reason the series endured. Given all the extra wrinkles that would get thrown into both Adam's background and Skeletor's by the launch of She-Ra and by a certain legendary 1987 minicomic, the lack of definition might have been for the best in multiple ways. :D

Oh wow, thank you for this, James! How awesome it would have been had the He-Man origin movie been released! So many questions answered! So looking forward to the next video in this series and I'm adding to the thanks to Erika for allowing you guys to recreate Lou's voice. His narration really drew me in.

I remember seeing the black cauldron in theaters thinking how awesome it would be if Masters of the universe got that sort of treatment for an animated film

This was incredible. Thank you so much for sharing this James! 🥹🙌

Impressive work, your videos are always a joy to watch.

Amazing video. Loved it. Thanks, once again, Mr Eatock

Thanks James!

It's a testament to efficient storytelling that almost the all the pertinent plot points of this film were presented in the standard 30 second intro. I do like Adam's little character arc though.

Terrific video, love hearing about lost origins and what ifs. Looking forward to the next one!

How have I never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing this!!

Amazing! Can't wait for the other two pitches

Thank you for this episode! Made me feel like a kid again hearing Lou reading it to us! Amazing job as always James!
