These are the car equivalent of dry robes

Loved the honest review Ben. Very informative and entertaining 😊

Nice to see you're a true dad with holes in the socks 😂

I’m the same as you I have 4 children and find it really useful we did 10 days inn it,

I have just decided to buy some extendable camping poles and camping tarp hang from the car to the porch area, this will give more space, I can set up as much or little as I like  then with ease,  I’ll even be able to drive away from the set,

you can get a winch on your garage roof so you can drive under it winch it off, leave it there then drive under and drop it on when your ready to go this is a one man job then we struggled to get it on and off the roof

Love watching you ❤I’m not a dad but u remind me of an English romanatwood 😂

The weight for installation is a real issue although will probably deter thieves - dies it cone with locks as it is quite expensive to lose

I was at the camping of the hill climb and was telling my friends how cool you and the Land Rover was aha

Roof tents are cool, but we prefer the conventional ones. Cheaper, easier to store, more spacious and we can go camping even with the roadster :)

We have put a tuff trek hybrid roof tent on our old defender - that’s 90kg and took 3 of us, made harder by the height we needed to reach to get it on top of the roof rack. It was that hard, it’s there to stay now !! I have since updated the suspension to accommodate the weight up top and can still feel the top heavy nature. BUT …… it really has given us a fantastic set up along with the 270 degree awning. And we now get away for weekends a lot more than we ever did. We love it 👍

This could lead onto a comparison video. Fashionable vs unfashionable: roof tent vs trailer tent. If you have a car with a tow bar I think hooking a trailer up for the odd camping trip would be easier to live with rather than driving around day to day with a roof tent attached or having to install it and remove it for each trip.

I will give you, being up away from the damp and insects is quite nice. I hadn't thought of that.

Regarding the wind noise. I have two kids and any noise my roof box makes is entirely negated by the cacophony of noise the kids are making in the back for the majority of most holiday trips 😂

Great video Ben, I've seen loads of these tent box ( other brands also available) fitted to cars and wondered how they worked, so now I know lol 😆
Keep up the good work Ben 👏

Being older ...having a pee in the middle of the night kills it for me ! 😁

Hi Brn & family.  Hope you're all doing good.
That was an awesome video Ben. I absolutely love that roof bunk. That exact one would work for my family.  I hope it would work for my Citroen XM estate.
I loved the video.
Take care & stay safe.

Gets a big thumbs up from me! Life is all about convenience when you get to our age. You want to spend time creating memories rather than wasting it faffing around trying to set up a tent. Some would say that’s part of the fun and create different memories, but for me, set and forget. Then go out and explore the local area, or just relax and unwind. Enough stresses in modern life as it is with work and what not.

Nice foldable socks you’ve got!

The only nightmare was your socks! I have to compliment you on being such a good dad - your kids are so natural and well behaved! I was wondering how that 70kg so high on the car would affect handling. Getting it on and off without damage to your vehicle would be a real pain on an SUV which is taller than your wagon. Also, what is the added height? Most parking structures have a 2m height limit...
