I thought I was alone as a YM fan. I have three, the rhodium dial, the gold 42 on Oysterflex, and my newest acquisition, the titanium YM 42. Always preferred them to a submariner.

Just pulled the trigger on a rhodium Yacht master 40 an hour ago for all those reasons. 🎉

They’re both beautiful watches. I daily my 41 no date sub. It’s so easy to wear. I’d like to own a 40 YM too at some day

My best sport watch is my 37mm Yatch Master,  just looks stunning. Loving the platinum bezel.

I truly enjoyed your analysis - and totally agree, the Yacht Master is much more special than the Sub. I bought a new Rolex Explorer from the AD because that is the one I wanted, instead of the Sub, which would usually be your first Rolex purchase. Great content and well received!

YM is a dream on the wrist, but Sub still wins out if you had to pick only one watch.  With the Sub you can do absolutely any activity or wear it with anything.  You can’t do that with the YM.  I hate that everyone has a sub, but there’s a reason.

The only issue is the shiny bracelet profile of the Yacht, to that of the Sub, everything else is awesome ❤

I own both the two-tone Submariner (15-year old) and Yachtmaster (1-year old) shown in your video.  I prefer the Yachtmaster for the reasons you describe.  It is a very refined watch and is wearable both in casual and dress situations.

I don’t see myself spending that much on any watch but the YM would be my choice! Congrats!

The one thing i dislike about the yachtmaster is the polished mid links, the scratches in polished finishes get to my soul 😵‍💫

At the end of the day, buy what you like because you will be the one wearing it for the rest of your life! The YM was such a perfect watch because of the blue dial with red seconds hand and the weight was perfect on my wrist. I moved on to the Submariner because an AD offered me and I am kinda missing the YM :(

Your video resonates 100% why I went with the YM. I was deciding between the Milgauss Z-Blue (which was my favorite since starting to look at Rolexes) when doing research, but somehow after putting on both watches, the Yacht-Master felt so much more comfortable and wearable. So yes, you're absolutely right 5/5! Wearability matters and comfort. Also, the sunburst dial looks so good too! Great video!

I do not own a Rolex but wish I did. I think of it as the perfect watch. You can assume it is well made. Watchmakers deem it eminently serviceable. After that, the choice moves from the intellectual to one of attraction. Some of us have a type, some can love a blonde or brunette, with brown or blue eyes, etc.  I wish I owned both of these watches. I have inexpensive copies of both designs and I am more comfortable on land than at sea. Enjoy your watch.
