The Jennifer telling Bruce that she's way better than him scene is peak feminism dialogue.

Hollywood's idea of a heroic woman is indistinguishable from a male villain.

These "heroines" seem more interested in what their powers or title as a hero can do for them, rather than how they can use them to help others

They are trying to redefine heroism from being centered on self sacrifice to being driven by self indulgence.

They’re literally villains who we’re told we better think are hero’s otherwise we’re sexist 😂

Not only are they extremely selfish, only care about their own interests and want to be admired for it, they're also extremely jaded treating their powers like a curse.
Them spitting on heroism in general like it's something cringe and naive really gets under my skin.

The problem can be boiled down to identity politics. Their view is that your identity defines if you are good or evil, not your actions.

A Man can do everything right in these Feminist Projects, but if he doesn't completely validate the Woman, he'll be villainized and put down by the "Hero"

Let's Reverse That To Male and it would be deemed Misogynistic and Sexist and Apparently It's Okay To be Misandrist Apparently 🙄

Recently I heard this sentence : "what is the difference between a feminist and a baby ? At one moment, a baby will stop crying, grow up and become an adult"

The problem is always the same :

When a male hero do something impressive the characters go "wow that's impressive " or "I didn't/always knew you had it in you",
when a female superhero does it it's always "you didn't think a woman could do this did you?" or "of course she did it she's a woman".

In the male instance, it says that the feat is impressive in general, with female superheroes, in an attempt to be "just as cool as the dudes" they imply that this is an exception for women specifically, so in other words "women aren't as good as men, this one is special". Not only is it reductive to women, not only does it makes them look ashamed of their feminity but it feels insecured and when you sell every heroine as "an exception " you basically train your audience into expecting that you're lying.

Like freaking Sonic Boom, a 2014-2015 kids cartoon was already calling out this kind of behavior.

And don't get me wrong not ALL superheroines have to be girly or feminin, tomboyish girls exist, just like there are guys who are more feminin without being gay, trans or anything like that, a "manly woman" is not inherently inferior or superior to a feminin one and same thing with mens. The problem is that most of those female superheroes are like that, there's barely any variety, so there is no contrast, no nuance and it's both reductive AND boring.

I recently made my own video with pretty much this exact thesis. The failure of female superheroes has nothing to do with the fact that they're female, but the fact that they're no longer allowed to just be heroes.

I think the whole "you're perfect just the way you are" has resulted in a lot of people being stuck in a state of arrested development. Personal growth is a lifelong process. Personal responsibility and accountability require us to acknowledge human beings are imperfect creatures that all make mistakes from time to time.

You know what ironic about modern female heroes when compared to those in the past? Those from years ago were badass while still retaining their femininity. Ripley was for sure an xenomorph killing badass, but she also took Newt under her wing like a mother, showing care and affection towards her and others. Sarah Connor, while more hardened in the sequel still expressed her more caring side towards her own son. Even cartoon characters like Kim Possible still had their feminine traits in tact while saving the world. But nowadays, that feels foreign to many filmmakers.

Despite not being the focus character, and despite numerous complaints from fake fans about the show being sexist, Ochaco Uraraka from My Hero Academia is a better superhero than the vast majority of female superheroes heading up their own films, because Uraraka actually goes through an arc where she must discover what heroism means to her and what kind of hero she wants to be, and none of it has anything to do with her being a woman.

It's strange that the more the newest wave of feminism decry masculinity as misogyny, they force women to become more masculine and give up the very strengths that lie at the core of women.  Strange and sad.

I started the video intending to just hear an intersting perspective but ended up touched by the words of a fellow spiderman fan who truly understands the character

feminism preaches the OPPOSITE of the heroe's journey. "You're perfect just the way you  are, all you need is to realize it and show everyone".

My favorite movie that embodies heroism is Disney's Hercules. You can be a hero in the eyes of the public and face every challenge, but sacrifice is the difference between being a hero and being a true hero. Hercules asked, "What more can I do?" Zeus's reply, "Look inside your heart."
