I don’t think the both of you will ever fully understand how much you have done for fishing in the UK. There are generations of anglers (myself included) who were inspired to fish by your shows. This Rod Race series is just as good as the others and you will always be angling legends to me. Thank you. I am eternally grateful for everyone you have done.

I have been an angler for over 40 years and can’t believe I have waited until now to watch The Great Rod Race. I have caught up in the last few days. It’s just great to see how much they love their fishing and the depth of friendship they have. Bloody good stuff!

Matt thank you for creating this series, it feels like the ‘race’ is in the background and it’s more of a showcase of friendship and ‘proper’ fishing. I used to love my Saturday mornings watching yourself, John Wilson & Rex Hunt. In my opinion there are not many well rounded anglers like yourself in front of the camera these days most are either match men or specialist anglers yet what you’ve shown over the years is that you have mastered all disciplines. You are a natural in front of the camera and there is clearly a space for you to put out a traditional fishing programme on YouTube (obviously is got to be viable for you).
Thank you again for putting the effort in to create this series and thank you Duke its always a pleasure to see you in front of a camera.

Hi Matt & Mick, me and a good friend of mine used to get up on a Saturday morning and watch all your fishing programs, we would have been 10/11 and would then cycle down the river to trott for trout on our local burn here in Scotland. You, Mick, John Wilson and a few others made us who were are today. Not our brand of fishing, however we loved it, even better when you caught a trout on the fly 😉 we and many many others are very grateful for what you guys have done, it also means a lot to us to see the raw emotions of it all, it highlights just how much this means to you.
