My video today is about the lie detector and whether you can trust it...
Recently, someone wrote to me and introduced himself as a former polygraph examiner and a specialist in human physiology. He claimed that his lie detector services had been used many times by investigators, and now he regretted it, having become disillusioned with the device.
Although polygraph data cannot be used in court in Russia, many law enforcement officials swear by it. And given the acquittal rate... you understand.
And this isn't just a problem in Russia. In the US, the polygraph has become a popular tool for identifying not only criminals but even spies. Meanwhile, in a number of other countries, such as the UK, such use of the polygraph is prohibited.
In short, my interlocutor asked me to "dissect" the polygraph from a scientific perspective. And he asked me to do it quickly. From the context, I realized he was seriously ill. Such is the human tragedy.

Фейспалм - в данном высказывании значит, что я сожалею, что родственник был дезинформирован, а также сожалею, что родственник высказал это при людях (вместо вбивания в поисковик) из-за чего мог бы быть выставлен в дурном свете, чего, к счастью, не произошло и это совершенно не значит, что я считаю чем-то постыдным не знать все тонкости работы полиграфа.
