i respect that he was able to combine all the worst aspects of youtube video essays in one video

It took me a few days to actually finish the video, it was rough lol. It's an awful critique, but it's decent ragebait, so I'll give you that. It's getting some people lol.

You like Starfield, you aren't even a sentient human being.

Man fights with the voices in his head for nearly FOUR HOURS

Came in here with an open mind but you make it very very hard to take your criticism seriously

This guy reached depth 5 and lost his sanity. (Or maybe never had it)

I’m only a third of the way in but I’m a bit confused. I get all of the criticisms about the roguelike aspects and where they fail, and how the game could be structured better. But I’m kinda surprised about the “all the bosses are bad” statement, with the size of their movesets being the main critique. I think we’d all agree that the size of the moveset doesn’t make a boss, but nevertheless I would be interested to see the data on the moveset/combo sizes and where they stack up compared to the rest of the souls games. Cause I don’t even know if Godrick has more combos than these bosses.

The AOE “diarrhea” attack criticisms kinda confuse me a bit . I don’t see what’s wrong with giving attacks that engage all 3 players everywhere no matter where they are. Doubt you’d agree, but I think of the spectacle that we see when it’s just one person in a boss fight in souls games, I like that they into account that there’s 3 of you, and crank up the spectacle in line with our strength. Idk

Haven’t finished yet at 22:16 wanted to say nightreign was designed as a passion project alongside Elden ring and reportedly had some impacts on Elden rings development more or less acting as a playground for devs to test ideas
I like night reign but I also like a lot of rouge likes and as a result I constantly criticize it there’s so many small things that could’ve made the game better and please don’t force yourself to play games of nightreign for people who don’t understand I doubt it would change their minds no matter what

I love Nightreign for what it is.
I love the gameplay loop, giving me a short condensed gameplay experience, where I can enjoy Elden Ring's combat without having to start a whole new playthrough where you have to run around on a horse for an hour before getting to the fun part.
I love the characters and story.
I love the random element of getting unoptimal weapon and having to think outside the box is super fun.

I don't just play Nightreign because it's the newest souls game, and I do acknowledge that the game has a lot of faults.
Saying that there are only two camps with one not caring and one mindlessly playing the game like a drone is crazy. Cause there are plenty of people who genuinely love the game.

You’re right. ITS A MISTAKE THAT EVERDARK HEOLSTOR/DREDGE DONT EXIST!

A MISTAKE!

Oh, and I dunno what the other 3 hours said…

Video games used to come on audio cassettes, then floppy disks, then compact discs, then DVD's/BluRay. All of these things had a manufacturing and distribution cost that publisher are no longer required to pay, so to say that video games haven't increased in price is just false. They have, but the increase was hidden from the consumer because it came from savings made by the publisher.

Yeah Nightreign was a disappointment, sure... but calling Bloodborne and Armored Core 6 bad games is fucking mental, wtf!!?

Off the top of my head, Veronique, Lumacchio, Anguished Guardian and Arlecchino have furies. Plus, Two Faced Overseer slam downs are not marked as fury but you must perfect block them or you’ll get guard broken.

Two Faced, Veronique have breakable weapon mechanic. You need to continuously perfect guard Overseer to bring him back to phase 1

Y'know following your mindset, I kinda hate the need to grind or gather items. Why dont they just spawn us at the last boss fully geared at max level? skip all that tedious gameplay

13:20 did we play the same game? Tyrannical Predator had a fury move, same for the Arch Puppet. The two leaders of the Stalker factions both had both a fury move and a breakable weapon. Same for the Overseer. Arlecchino also had both + even got a Grindstone mechanic on top.

I've never played a second of this game (not into multiplayer games) but i like how the only responses to three and a half hours of criticism i have read are "you disagree with my fanboyism so it's got to be ragebait" and "you disagree with my fanboyism so you are wrong and ugly and dumb and stupid i am very smart"...

edit: Upon closer inspection there is also "the guy that does SL1 runs, hitless boss fights and did grind this game to some level 5 tier thingy obviously just sucks at it. git gud amirite?"

What the hell dude, almost 4 hours?

Daamn

I especially enjoyed the tangent at 55:01 where you get annoyed about a tweet making fun of Americans for being so obsessed with burgers that even their metaphors are about burgers... then go on to explain how an empty burger bun is actually the perfect metaphor for an underwhelming and insubstantial experience, because burgers are so delicious that not having a burger when a burger was expected is the epitome of disappointment. Great bit. People being grumpy about stereotypes as they actively play into them is so funny.

no no NO, developers not receiving justified pay or corporate stupidity cutting corners are within NO manner correlated with art prices,
they are. WITHIN TOTALITY. 100% corporate greed, they are making more currency than EVER. unto EXPONENTIAL multiplications,
we should NOT increase prices for art, we should demand that those who create it are paid without corporate greed stealing from them,
solve the problem. not the symptoms,

I accept your apologies....update 15:03 I fucking respect you
