Come book shopping with me this Indie Bookshop Week in York, London, West Kirby and Norwich. Find out what I pick up along the way, thanks to a voucher from Books Are My Bag & National Book Tokens. Plus join me as I host some events (including with Maggie O’Farrell and Elizabeth Day) and go to the Women’s Prize finale. Lots of bookish shenanigans. #vlog #booktube #bookshopping

I would love a Maggie O'Farrell themed vlog.
There aren't many independent bookshops near me, so I shop from the ones I find online.

We have a lovely little bookshop in Beaumaris, so next time you’re on Anglesey 😊

Three suggestions for further Indie shop visits:
1 Imagined Things in Harrogate
2 The Little Ripon Bookshop and Children's bookshop next door.
3 The Stripey Badger in Grassington, North Yorkshire.

They are Beautiful shops . The Stripey Badger has a Cafe upstairs. Do come this way !

I would like to shout out three amazing independent booksellers. 1. Three Lives in Greenwich Village NYC--small, every square inch is filled judiciously. Expect a perfectly-curated selection, just right for your next smart read. 2. Bookmarks in Winston NC is a non-profit bookseller in a repurposed truck garage. Roomy browsing in an urbane and unexpected environment. 3. And in small hilltown in a remote part of France is a bookstore on three levels, Les Bluets. Half of the subterraneanean level are books published in English, and spans a wide range of age groups, genres, seriousness, and publication dates. I can't wait to go back! (Yes to the Land-vlog)

I love Toppings. I once showed up for an event wearing a “PROTECT TRANS RIGHTS” shirt and the booksellers got all excited and asked “Where did you get that shirt?” and I said “Brooklyn Book Fest!” and they went “Oh 😔” lol so adorable

What a fun 'in the life of' video showing so many cool book stores and events. You live such an exciting and accomplished life! I really really need to read Death of an Ordinary Man. Ugh, it sounds so absolutely amazing, and I love a good cry in public places haha.

I very much enjoyed The Original by Nell Stevens, I think you will love it. I second the awesomeness of Death of an Ordinary Man. I was half way through reading it when my father passed away and I found it so gentle and comforting, loved it. I'm a big fan or Readings, but another Aussie independent bookstore worthy of a shout out is Avid Reader in West End, Brisbane. They are small but they are mighty!! And do online orders.
