"The true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries, nor innovators, but traditionalists." —Pope St. Pius X.

"Do not be ashamed to be a Christian. Do not be ashamed of the gospel; rather, be ashamed of sin. Be ashamed of greed, of avarice, of selfishness, of pride."
- St. John Chrysostom (c. 349-407)

I'm one of those catholics young men who want tradition.
We got enough modernity and tolerance everywhere else.

I think 30-40 years ago, being a priest was something that was considered socially acceptable so a lot of unorthodox men got into it because it was “trendy” whereas today, after the spotlight scandal, someone entering the priesthood knows they will be mocked and called a pedophile. Only someone who is very orthodox would be willing to endure that mockery for the faith.

I just became Catholic. I would go to my head priest for confession because I thought he was more experienced in his spiritual guidance. I didn't feel forgiven or helped much as he would try to downplay my sin. I tried my younger priest, who was younger than me. I felt so much weight lifted off my shoulders after confessing to him.

Christ is cleaning His temple once more

There was an AP article last year that talked about this shift, albeit with a slightly less... enthusiastic view of the matter. A parish featured in the article got a new, younger priest and suddenly the homilies were about confession and sin. You know, normal Catholic stuff. But apparently it shocked the parishioners and made them uncomfortable. Which, you know, is kind of the point.

I live in Saskatoon, Canada (Population 280,000). We have two Catholic Cathedrals and 93 parishes in our diocese. Our amazing Bishop has done so much to bring back tradition like Communion rails, putting the Tabernacle back into the middle of the church behind the Altar, some priests at the Novus Ordo deliver mass Ad Orientem, and a lot of money has gone to renovating older churches back to their original and traditional beauty.

One recent older effeminate pastor at my local parish told me he didn’t believe in purgatory. He couldn’t accept the possibility of suffering beyond this life. I’m glad we are moving past such foolishness

I've seen this in my parish and in my Archdiocese. We have an older boomer parish priest who is more liberal, and a young conservative trad parochial vicar right out of seminary, and at some point the older parish priest said that he would start having to do Latin Masses, and "dust off those old Latin rubric books" to accommodate the change and be more ecumenical to the growing traditionalists. And guess who taught him how to do the Latin Mass? The young trad parochial vicar. Absolutely astounding.

I met a Catholic chaplain while I was at ILE, and he was only slightly older than I was (around 34 at the time).  He was very conservative and traditional.  He had clashed with his bishop over doing communion toward the altar and wanted to learn more about the Latin Mass.  He was also devout in the no meat fast on Fridays and inspired me to take that up.   He was my battle buddy during the school, and I thank God for sending him, really helped me start the road back to Catholicism by meeting a Priest that truly believed.

He really showed me the depths of what it meant to be Catholic.  It wasn't just a club that met on Sundays, it was a religion with Traditions and demanded something from me.  There is something good about seeing a priest uphold the Traditions and orthodoxy.  Hard to put my finger on, but it is there.

Confessional Lutheran here,

My girlfriend is Roman Catholic, and I wanted to thank you for your videos--they have been very helpful for understanding her tradition and ways we are united. May God bless you and sustain your ministry, and pray for us. :)

Great video!

It is difficult to wrap my head around the idea that the hippies are now the oldies on their way out to be replaced by a more conservative younger crowd.

I was an Episcopalian. Detransitioned and left that pit of vipers last year.  I have had enough of liberal Christianity to last me a lifetime. They were more interested in celebrating the self than worshiping Christ.  It almost killed my soul.  It was a kind, but conservative Catholic Priest who helped me when my life was falling apart.  I am now happily Catholic and in a thriving Catholic parish.

As a Canadian, can confirm that I've seen this shift among young Catholics here as well.

How dare youtube hide this video from me for .2 seconds

As a former Eastern Orthodox, it’s amazing seeing our young priests make traditionalist changes to our parish.

6:22 mark. "Catholic Progressivism is Dying". Now that sparks joy.

It always made me wonder why a man would enter the priesthood if he didn’t believe wholeheartedly in all Church teachings-unless he has nefarious motives….🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Can't say that I'm shedding any tears here
