At this point, if you actually want a Jeep and you are 18 or older, you deserve every hardship that comes along with it.

The last thing I would ever want to buy When shopping for a vehicle is a Jeep! 😂

The rear subframe just fell out of my mother's 2012 with 50k miles on it last week.  She bought it new and took care of it.  Thanks Chrysler!

I worked at a dealership that sold Buick, Pontiac, GMC pickups and we also sold Jeeps that AMC made. We sold many C-5 C-j7 and other Jeeps. They were very good Jeeps back then. But those days are long gone now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Judging by that case of that transmission, that isn't the CVT.  That has the Hyundai 6 speed automatic (6F24) that they used from 2014-2017, which is actually a decent transmission.  I have one in my Jeep Compass.  The CVT actually had a traditional oil pan, that one in the video does not.  I just want to mention this since he points out how terrible the CVT is while looking at a transmission that isn't the CVT.  Grant it, the CVT they put in the Patriot/Compass/Caliber is a piece of junk, but that is why in 2014 they changed to the Hyundai transmission except for the "Trail Rated" versions.  Just want to set the record straight.  The engine nor transmission in this particular Patriot is NOT junk.

My ex girlfriend got one of these not long ago. She’s had terrible luck. I hope that continues for her 🙂

Wizard is becoming the Billy Mays of auto repair. "But wait, there's more!" "But wait, there's even more!"

"It's a Jeep, it's reliable". That would not be the first association coming to my mind.

As soon as I find out it has a CVT I walk away from it.

Hey Mr Wizzard, that Jeep does NOT have a CVT trans. That Jeep has a 6 speed automatic. The CVT always has a long narrow oil pan and a trans cooler mounted right on the trans. The 6 speed is much better than the CVT .

My daughter has one with over 200,000 miles on it and it is still going strong.

When I was a young guy with my first car it would have been very, very good to have had the Internet. Would have saved me a TON of stress, and taught me a lot that would have saved me time and money. You do good work, Wiz.

I have a 2016 patriot and I had it for 4years it never gave me an issue.. got from A to B easily and took 4 road trips I’m talking long trips with no problems.. I love the patriot !

The Jeep Patriot I got for my daughter for college only cost me $1. So mine was worth it😂it is currently  making its 7th 17 hour trip to school. 210k miles

My son bought one of these (used) a couple years ago.  It's given him reliable service so far, but he had the wisdom to get it with a manual transmission.  I'd be very reluctant to purchase ANY vehicle with a CVT.

I have a 2014 Jeep Patriot so I clicked on this to see what to beware of. Well, I have a manual transmission so I guess that's the good news!

I once rented a Jeep Compass. I will never drive another Jeep again.😮

The only advice my dad ever gave me was never buy a used car with a trailer hitch on it.

The Jeep Cherokee from the mid 90's were bullet proof. Those inline 6 engines had balls, and if you took care of them, go for 500,000 miles

My Dad bought a new Jeep Compass with a CVT transmission here in South Africa. He very quickly got rid of it and bought a Prado (Landcruiser)😊
