The Archelos deck is probably one of the coolest spellslinger decks I've ever seen. I get too hung up on what kind of instant and sorceries I should be casting when I could just keep it simple and remember that any instant and sorceries will do.

I love gingerbrute in Start your Engines decks. It can even be a turn 3 max speed if you get one of the speed lands and it on turn 1

Ngl man, I’ve been consuming mtg content for long enough to have seen probably 1000+ random videos over the last 10 years or so and of all the deck tech videos where prople are just reciting the top edhrec cards for any given popular commander at the time, your channel has been a breath of fresh air. I like your logic, your delivery and at times where you see how you may concede the thought introduced for an alternate one if need be.

archelos is especially awesome, because cards like springleaf drum, gene pollinator and paradise mantle kind of become political tools. you can use them at instant speed to lock your opponents out of potential mana, which is super powerful and can actually make for a pretty fun politics deck too. but archelos spellslinger might be one of the coolest ideas that ive seen on the channel so far

good call Zahur is actually super underrrated

i desperately need a decklist for that archelos deck, it looks so cool!!!

Ohhh, I didn't realize Archelos could be made as a spellslinger and/or landfall deck! I pulled the card a while back and never knew what to do with it, but you've made a strong case for it being a great with landfall and as a spellslinger!

Mica is absolutely nuts. He's the secret commander in my new Smaug, Wicked Worm deck. According to EDHREC, he's currently in less than 60/1.38k of Smaug decks. Crazy!

Would love to see the example deck you built on these.
Also I love this concept of trying something unexpected in an otherwise saturated archtype.

I actually have a deck built around this interaction. Sedgemoor Witch + Plumb the Forbidden + Drain is such a fun combo. You can use things like meathook massacre and on death small creatures to make it really strong.

if you want the little white corners on your card images to go away, download the full resolution PNG via the button at bottom of the scryfall page :) love your videos! thanks for another banger!

Zahur actually sounds cool af I'm gonna make that

Great video idea and deck ideias. this is exactly what i like to do since i began playing the game but i dont have time and patience enough to discover this type of hidden strategies. That said, i'll just share some ideias i keep returning too but never really end up brewing myself, if anyone takes an interest. I would really love to see someone try and build something exotic (popular or unpopular archetype) around: 1- the ever-changing dane (i thought about mutate but dont really know if it benefits that much from it), 2- Estinien Varlineau (dragons/artifact or dragons/spellslinger), G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn and Urianger Augurelt. Thanks again i hope you make more videos of this kind

mica is so good with thrill of possibility effects, its so wild, i love to go all in with that in wort raidmother

I actually brewed a Zahur list because I love once per turn effects (Like Aminatou granting miracle), being able to surprise players by doing it four times a turn cycle is great. It was a really fun list and I'd love to build it in paper eventually

Okay, you've convinced me to give Mica a honest consideration. I've not made a spellslinger deck yet, and Red is probably my least favorite mono color, so thanks for helping me fill that niche!

26:15 That's most likely meant to be Eagle of Deliverance, if anyone was curious.

If I may, Mind's desire could basically also read: "Shuffle your library, and select a card at random for each spell you've cast this turn", but just remember to resolve copy triggers. It makes it resolve much faster in a casual pod.

Ooh, I built Archelos Spellslinger after Fandaniel came out! I might tinker with my list a little later

15:45 you had me at "Mica, Reader of Ruins" he is a sleeper threat in my "Heart of the Cards: Lorehold the Historian" deck with massive Instants/Sorceries and treasure generators
