This time I take you through a little tour of my vintage botanical book collection, from which I choose a few illustrations as an inspiration for my painting. ✸ I wanted them to be more challenging so I've decided to play with underpainting — I started each of the painting by choosing a different coloured oval shape and then working on top of that. I got a few messages of you guys painting along my videos and I think that the red agaric mushroom painting is a perfect for that, if I should choose one!

About 20 years ago I spent a while in Czechia and one of my favourite things was seeing the poppies in flower when I cycled through Moravia after the long winter. Collecting mushrooms in the forest in autumn is also a special memory. Your art is delightful and makes me feel quite nostaligic.

I have begin collecting children's book with interesting illustrations, I am making a journal about them and will give the collection to new granddaughter, age 1.5 when she is ready.

I love vintage and antique books. I have always loved old books, especially vintage children's books with their wonderful illustrations. I also love old botanical books with their scientific illustrations, and old field guides filled with wonderful images of animals and insects. Your gouache paintings turned out very well. I like the way you framed each of the paintings with an oval shaped background.
