Still a bit confused on the lore of Death Stranding? Go watch the video I did covering the FIRST game here!

Sam and Higgs having a guitar fight both physically and musically makes me realize I've never had good drugs

This is the only story explained that actually feels like it explained things. Really solid editing.

The first game’s tagline was “Tomorrow’s in your hands” which immediately gave it away for me when I saw a character named tomorrow lmao

They endlessly manipulate Sam with obfuscation, violence, emotional abuse, and outright lies. Loses his baby (or whatever) and crosses two continents. He’s lucky he even talks to them.

I just wish lou wouldve called him dad at the end

Neil's entrance is both conceptually and visually the coolest thing I've ever seen in a game.

Death stranding aka Sam can’t catch a break

As a mother, the loss of Lou makes me want to collapse and scream

A crucial point that you missed was that fragile lost her memory of the events and that she only meant to journey with Sam one last time as he mourned lou. It was only when they arrived at the beach when fragile realized this and decided to tell die hardman the truth.

54:00 the really REALLY crazy part about the "Deadman borrowing Heartman's body" bit was that, while doing so, they used Deadman's mo-cap for Heartman. It looked like Heartman, but the model moved like Deadman would - it was definitely on the uncanny side of the valley. Really, really cool effect and great use of mo-cap.

Philosophers of the past: how can I understand myself and the universe?
Philosophers of the present: how can I understand Death Stranding and the game's universe?

"I don't want things existing after a bang." This explains a lot of insects.

The sad part of the story is that Neil loved Lucy (for different reasons) but he was a father to Lou as much as Sam was/is. He is the unsung hero of the story (what he couldn't do in life, he was able to do in the afterlife).

40:59 Heartman is a DOOMs sufferer that has 21 minute syndrome. For every 21 minutes he is alive, his heart stops which leads him to explore the beaches for exactly 3 minutes then his heart is automatically resuscitated thus the ongoing strain on his heart muscle

"I remember now" - enough to make a grown man cry. Again.

You did the impossible. I’ve watched, like, 4 of these. This is the ONLY one that helped me really understand what’s going on. Perfect editing. YOU WIN!

I’ve been inflicted with a hopefully temporary condition that has kept me from playing games right now. I just couldn’t stay away from knowing how this one turned out. Thank you for this video. I watched another playthrough without commentary and this was a perfect companion video to fill in the gaps. What an epic experience this game is. I hope I can play it through myself someday!!

You have a great narration style, expressing great emotion and then occasionally breaking the "4th wall" to nerd out over something you are getting to see which is very endearing. It was a pleasure to listen to, and thank you!

I got hooked on the lore of this universe, and since I unfortunately can't play the game and I don't think I will be able to anytime soon, I watched and rewatched countless lore vídeos. And honestly, yours was the BEST so far. Not that the others didn't explain it well, but you explain it in an easy to digest way, and you have such a perfect comedic timing that set your analysis apart. Good job man 👶👍
