"We can't let anything die, ever."
High quality joke wording for a movie about ghosts.

Filling your 2 hour movie with 30+ characters is tight!

- It doesn't say so here!
- Oh, close one!

Love the "says so right here" and the angry waving of the script. Instant classic

That "final battle" felt very small, it all took place in that dang firehouse, and the villain barely moved from where he originally came in from lol thought that was hilarious.

3:06 I loved that strong reaction to..

"Like montreal in February cold"
"OMG"

I was honestly way more excited for Ryan's Pitch Meeting than the actual movie. "Scary Balls are Tight!"

In Winston’s defense, the other three ghostbusters took out 9 mortgages on Ray’s house and by the second movie they were doing birthday party appearances. They weren’t exactly great at managing money or a business.

Long ago, the demon Garraka sought to freeze the world. Then, everything changed when the Fire Masters attacked.

I always love when Ryan's taking about something overly complicated and transitions from explaining to just reading from the paper, its such a gentle kind of sarcasm xD

"They don't call her Speedy Phoebe for nothing."
"Do they call her that?"
"No, they don't... For Nothing."
😅

Petition for "How?" "It doesn't say that here." to become a running gag. Any time Screenwriter Guy is baffled at the screenwriting like the script he wrote has some sort of sentience and wrote itself, it's hilarious.

The original worked because you could feel the fun they had making it. Every new hollywood movie feels like a human resources meeting.

1:42 definitely something parents let their children do in New York City! 😂💀

When I saw it in theaters, Ryan's voice was in my head during the third act:
Writer: So now the big boss ghost is headed to the fire station...
Exec: Uh-ohh!
Writer: Yeah, but since Phoebe's really smart, she's going to attach brass to her proton pack, which is the only way to make it work against the bad guy.
Exec: Oh, that sounds smart all right!
Writer: Yeah, so then all the Ghostbusters and the rest of the kids line up to meet the bad guy at the fire station entrance, and they're ready for their big ghost fight!
Exec: Do they have brass on their proton packs too?
Writer: What? No PHOEBE does, remember? She's the smart one!
Exec: Oh--
Writer: --Yeah, so all the Ghostbusters and kids and the Firemaster all try to shoot their proton packs at the big boss ghost
Exec: But didn't Phoebe tell them that wouldn't work on him?
Writer: I don't know!
Exec: By the way, where is Phoebe during this big faceoff?
Writer: She's downstairs, talking to the girl ghost!
Exec: Kinda seems like she's more needed upstairs, seeing as how she has that brass proton pack
Writer: Well she isn't ok?! She's downstairs talking with the girl ghost about girl stuff!! It's more important right now!
Exec: So does she rush upstairs?
Writer: No, she's going to be talking down there for a very long time...

Kumail also slides down the pole after she cuts the brass chunk out of it. It would also have been funny if he fell the rest of the way (as it is, the pole looks completely intact, oh well).

Using fire bending to bust ghosts is TIGHT! 🔥 👻

I'm at a tipping point with Hollywood and being a movie lover. Over the last few years it has become more entertaining to watch a pitch meeting than the movie/show itself. Subsequently, I don't watch many new movies anymore (like this one) and just watch the pitch meeting

Honestly, the only reason that people think being a ghostbuster is like an action hero is, specifically the CHORUS of the ghostbusters theme. When that synth hits, it makes the idea of being a shlubby ghost exterminator the most heroic, manly thing ever.

I love how she melts part of the fireman's pole down for the brass but in subsequent scenes it is still intact and being used! So miraculous!

I noticed that Possessor steals the wax cylinder because it can awaken Garaka without the Phoebe plot, when the cylinder breaks Phoebe is the only one who can be tricked into doing it. Though I don't see how Garaka could have known that phoebe would do the soul extractor thing, presumably he was expecting something like Frank being suffocated in the Frighteners to happen allowing her to be controlled while dying but not yet dead.
