Let me answer some questions.
Unlike Kamen Rider, Super Sentai is a ranger team selected by the forces of justice. It's a different concept from Rider.
The original Gorenger had a rather heavy premise, as the survivors of five ranger units wiped out by an evil organization came together.
The reason there were so many explosions behind the characters during their early transformations was because filming was more extreme at the time. Apparently, it was incredibly scary for the actors. It was made safer by using CG.
Giant robots began appearing in Battle Fever J because the previous year's Spider-Man series featured a giant robot that sold like hotcakes, so it was introduced into Sentai as well. Having multiple members each assigned their own mecha was a good theme for product development, but it also contributed to the program's budget increasing in order to make miniatures.
Some Sentai teams, like Gorenger, Changeman, Maskman, and Jetman, engage in special missions (fighting monsters and evil organizations) as part of the military. However, most are secret organizations that fight in secret.
・The show's popularity plummeted with Turbo Ranger and Fiveman, and it was on the verge of being discontinued, but Jetman's improved scripts and appeal to adults revived its popularity, leading to a decision to continue the show. Various experiments were carried out to maintain the show's popularity, such as moving the broadcast time from weekday evenings to Sunday mornings to make it more accessible to all ages.
・The Power Rangers series first began to be purchased in the United States with Zyuranger. However, Toei had officially collaborated with Marvel before that, using several Marvel elements in Spider-Man, Battle Fever J, and Denziman.
・The content of the Sentai series has been changed since the original Power Rangers at the request of Saban, the company that purchased the rights.
1: Sentai stories are often dark and complicated for American children, so they wanted to simplify them.
2: Long opening themes would tire of American children and they would stop watching, so they decided to make them a short song that simply chanted the ranger's name. Go Go Power Rangers♪.
3: To replace the cast with American actors, the story was changed to better suit the culture. Additionally, they sometimes completely changed main storylines that were deemed unpopular in the US (e.g., changing a school-themed series to a space-based sci-fi series like Lost Galaxy).
4: To reduce the risk of accusations of racism, they always included members of multiple races.
5: Because character figures sell well in the US, they wanted to release unique Power Rangers power-up items, such as the Red Ranger's reinforced armor, that power up the heroes themselves, in addition to the Megazord.
These factors led to their own unique paths. As a result, depending on the content of each year's series, the stories often had no connection to the original Sentai. (The powered-up Zyuranger becomes the Dairanger, and the Kakuranger appears as the Alien Rangers.)
- The villain of Zyuranger (Mighty Morphing), the witch Pandora (whose name in Power Rangers is Rita Repulsa), was unusual for a villain whose face is revealed, and was instead cast as a Japanese actress. Her name is Machiko Soga, an actress with a deep connection to Sentai. She's a veteran actress who played the Evil Queen in Denziman, Sun Vulcan, and Zyuranger, and an ally wizard in Magiranger (Mystic Force).
By the way...in the Power Rangers, which share the same worldview as the series, the evil witch Rita is reformed through battle and becomes a witch of justice, reappearing in Mystic Force as the witch of justice, Mystic Mother.
- The guinea pig that appears in the opening of Hurricaneger (Ninja Storm) is the protagonist's teacher, who was transformed by enemy magic in the first episode. He continues to give instructions to the Rangers as Guinea Pig Teacher. One of the Rangers' goals is to restore him to his original form.
- White from Abaranger (Dino Thunder) is the first evil ranger to appear as a regular character, and they only fought together as the fifth ranger in the episode before the finale. He is a former doctor who lost hope in the world, and was also Red's personal physician in the past.
・The concept of Boukenger (Overdrive) is a ranger version of Indiana Jones.
・The concept of Gekiranger (Jungle Fury) is Bruce Lee.
・Go-onger (RPM)'s Zords have eyes because they are car-shaped mechanical lifeforms from another dimension.
・Kyoryuger (Dino Charge) became popular for the dances in the movie and opening theme. It was also hugely popular in Korea, leading to a Korean sequel called Kyoryuger Brave.
・The original version of Shinkenger (Samurai) was so popular that it ranked first in all Sentai popularity polls, and it was so entertaining, I hope mtokuu will watch it someday.
Other recommended original versions include Gokaiger (Super Megaforce), Go-Busters (Beast Morphers), ToQger (not broadcast in the US), and King Ohger (not broadcast in the US), as their stories are particularly well-received by adults. Unfortunately, none of these series have official dubbed or subtitled versions.
・The design concept of Zyuohger (not aired in the US) was inspired by The Lion King. Yellow's hairstyle is a lion's mane.
・Zenkaiger (not aired in the US) was made up of a human leader and four robot lifeforms, as it was difficult to gather actors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of the robots is based on a Zord from a previous Sentai series.
・Don Brothers (not aired in the US) is based on the Japanese folktale character Momotarou. The members are based on Momotarou, a dog, a monkey, a pheasant, and an ogre. He is also the only male Pink Ranger.
・King Ohger is a rare Sentai series set in a completely fantasy world.
・Gojuger is the final Sentai series. It features the only female Black Ranger. However, her actress left the show due to a scandal, and she was quickly replaced by the actress who played Yellow in the Don Brothers. She has been praised as a savior by fans who were worried about the show's broadcast.
Furthermore...
- In Denziman, the Blue Ranger punching a black man was an expression of how strong he was, able to defeat a "black heavyweight boxer, the symbol of an incredibly strong man" with one punch.
- In the opening scenes of early works, many female warriors were shown swimming or doing fashion shows because women were expected to be sexy.
- The concept of Masked Man and Ohranger is mystery and the occult, but this was before the cult religion Aum Shinrikyo committed the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway, so these themes were well received.
I think it's understandable that compliance changes depending on the era.

the "Grown Up in Spandex" thing is the name of the fan group that made the subtitles.

32:26 - Grown Ups In Spandex is the name of an online fansubbing group who would add subtitles to these shows. Most fansub groups will often put their name at the start like this.
The rule is generally if these shows got licensed in English-speaking territories (such as a DVD release in the US), these groups will usually pull their subs out of circulation and encourage people to support the official releases.

You are right, this is where are mighty morphin power rangers came. Zyuranger. Then they took the thunder zords and the white ranger. And after that they took the ninja zords and made Japan Ninja Rangers into alien rangers.

12:18 interesting that you asked this. The girl ranger being an either model or a swimmer is a cliche in the early sentai openings, so they are all different people (different actresses too).
However, the Blue Ranger of Denjiman has the same actor as Battle Kenya (Black Ranger of Battle Fever J). He is also the actor of another famous tokusatsu series Space Sheriff Gavan.
And i think he appeared in the Kill Bill movie too.

1:20:57 not only is it CAPTAIN BUGGY but he is the first Kyoryu Violet. He even shoots a bad guy voiced by Kazuki “SUPER Frrrrranky!” Yao in his first transformation scene!

3:30 its not a rip, Saban made a deal with Toei to localize super sentai on the west. So Saban was free to use whatever they wanted from sentai
@Steelaiii-2 9 months ago
36:44 you were talking about Rita repulsa. You should also keep in mind that Lord Zedd from Power Rangers was an original creation in America. He was not in the sentai version.
@Steelaiii-2 9 months ago
46:20 gingaman also known as lost galaxy or as I like to call them, “the Charlie Brown Rangers” for reasons that should be obvious
@Nflux 9 months ago (edited)
The mecha originated in the Toei Spider-Man show. Also the visors for Gogo-V are supposed to resemble the emblems and badges of their respective fields: search and rescue, firefighting, pilot corps, the police, and emts. Also they're all siblings, along with Fiveman and Magiranger.
@BlueBlazeKing 9 months ago (edited)
35:50 Basically they would use any footage that involved the characters in mask or costumes or in a few cases dress certain characters up to match the sentai version so they could do far out shots. Anything else was done by the American team with us evidently getting more original suit fight footage
1:20:52 Yep it’s him and not only is he the narrator but he also suits up at one point in this series

1:38:00 The last season to be adapted by Power Rangers was Ryusoulger into Dino Fury. Power Rangers then did a sequel/second season mini-series to that as a mostly home created series of suits, but used footage from Kyuuranger for some mecha scenes. But, after that, Power Rangers was hung up to dry.

12:39-12:55 Super Sentai team membership varies from team to team. To list some examples in no particular order-
The Turborangers were imbued with fairy magic as children. That made them the only ones who could fight the Bouma (Turborangers villains).
The Kiramagers were chosen based on their Kiramentality. Basically each of them excels in a field they love (Red is an artist, Pink is a surgeon etc) and that mindset fuels their powers.
The Zyrangers were warriors from ancient times chosen for their skill and courage. They were put into stasis until Bandora returned.
25:47-26:03 Close. It's Tai Chi Chuan. And no, Momoko is Japanese.
35:48-36:03 Occasionally they would reshoot some scenes but mostly they just relied on editing tricks.

36:00 most of the action scenes in Power Rangers were taken from their Super Sentai counterparts (and you can really see how the scenery feels different and the video is grainier/duller tone when they fights).
But sometimes there are American-exclusive scenes of the rangers. Usually those that have a lot of explosions and slow motions are original scenes that is absent in the Sentai version.
And during 1997 to 2008 era, Power Rangers series always have red ranger-exclusive upgrades called "Battlizer". Those are also absent in the Super Sentai version.

20:19 funny you say that, Bioman was Sabans original Pilot for what eventually became Power Rangers. It would’ve starred Mark Dacascos and Miguel Nunez, Ricky Fontaine from Martin, Pretty Ricky what they called him lol
@csk7769 9 months ago (edited)
GekiChopper was in Jungle Fury quite a bit, actually. Dominic Hargan, the Rhino Ranger, was played by Nikolai Nikolaeff, one of the more famous PR alumni, since he went on to be in Daredevil, Stranger Things, and more :) It's extremely rare for Power Rangers to have completely original main characters, but yes, Lord Zedd is one of them. 9 out of 10 times they've actually taken a character from another season that they didn't adapt and jammed it into this one in order to fit their original story. Also, the Dino Charge suits were completely identical to the Kyoryuger suits, so I'm not sure where you have that idea from. There are a lot of Kyoryugers though, and not all of them were visibly in the opening, so perhaps you were thinking of those members. The only other difference i can think of is that the suits were slightly changed in that korean adaptation.
Also the difference in tone and seriousness between Kamen Rider and Super Sentai is NOT as big as people are telling you lol, ppl who say that are just embarassed to admit they like things aimed at all age audiences. Super Sentai has several darker plotlines, and Kamen Rider is less edgy than you think. They're both closer to the middle than that
Though it did have two crossover episodes with Kamen Rider Saber to advertise a movie, Zenkaiger's own narrative is not a crossover with anything other than past Sentai, their suits are just clear references to past seasons. Zenkaizer's white with rainbow patterns to reference the first two seasons, the red ranger's got a big 16 on him because he looks strongly inspired by the Zyuranger Megazord (Mighty Morphin), just like how the other three robot rangers and their numbers come from Gaoranger's megazord, (Wild Force) Magiranger's megazord (Mystic Force), and Boukenger's megazord (Overdrive). The sixth ranger's human, and you saw him in the opening turn into a golden Gokaiger (the Super Mega Force pirates).
Donbrothers is fantastic, it's one of the three consistently most popular seasons of all time (check the official popularity polls) together with Shinkenger and Gokaiger, and has a really fascinating story. It's a good litmus test to see who is so weak they think the strange cgi of the pink and black rangers is a bad thing
Especially when King-Ohger, the one right after, gets so much love in blind reactions despite clearly having just as bad if not worse cgi (it's almost equally good as a show to Donbrothers, don't get me wrong, but even just based off blindly seeing the ops the difference in these youtuber's reactions is really silly)

They're called rangers, that's not a thing from the American adaptation.
Ever since the first one from 70's, they're "Gorangers" - Five rangers (also a word play with just Go! rangers!).
Aside from Go Busters and the ones ending their name with Man, every other team has Ranger in the name, tho as time goes by they just short it with "anger, ger, er"
Abaranger (Abare + ranger)
Go-Onger (Go On + ger from ranger)
Hurricanger (Hurricane + (r)anger)
Zenkaiger (Zenkai + ger)
Magi Ranger
The Zords are just called Super Robots (or Robos), or Mecha, they vary a lot in their names so calling them Mecha in general is fine.
