A wonderful presentation !!! Joining the military, whatever the branch,,,whatever the nation ,,,,is not just physical training , marching and saluting. It is a psychological challenge for all recruits as well...for soooo many individual reasons. This presentation so very, very well provides a look at that aspect... I am a US Army vet . Thank you for bringing back so many memories!

This looks a bit dated now, but that Dakombe, what a bloke. Hope he is doing really well in his career.

It is only the beginning and the Navy expects much more as you progress in this militarily life. Teamwork is required in every job given 100%😊

This was great. Tough on discipline and harsh at times, but the discipline is something you are not something you do. Great documentary

I was in the US Navy. Boot camp was nothing like this. We marched daily until our foreheads were sunburned (we called it a grinder reminder). Boot camp in San Diego was literally at the end of the runway for San Diego international airport, so when we were doing PT we would have to stop whatever we were doing while the plane went over and freeze in position so if you're doing a push-up you had to stop up or down wherever you're at. Plus the drill instructors yelled at us constantly. When we were being disciplined we did PT in our barracks until the walls were dripping with sweat. This boot camp in this video is unbelievable

Thank God I went through back in '83. Just to be clear, we have no fleet. It's Prince of Wales Queen Elizabeth or shore base. Good luck.

That gym instructor is my friends boyfriend. She trained as a pharmacy technician with me. First woman in the navy to get a military cross in Afghanistan as well

Ich war 1988 bei der deutschen Marine, aber ich finde die Royal Navy besser.
Allein schon um den Marschstil beneide ich die Briten., und dann die Uniform... - einfach whow...! 😊😊😊

How does anyone fail basic training? In 79 I went through basic, and lost maybe 2 out of 100 trainees. Showing up dressed appropriately was impressive
