I totally relate to the "being drawn to the community even before I knew I was queer"! That's me too! I felt so lonely and wanted to be a part of it...and, surprise, I actually am! Just didn't know it for aaaages!

My childhood gay sign was that I felt my attraction to boys was forced. Like I would have a crush on a guy just cuz all my other girl friends were having crushes on boys

One of my signs was the opposite of yours: I was terrified of physical contact with my lady friends lol. I was afraid of gay feelings 😩 so I would hardly even hug them!

I was obsessed with Emma Watson and Hailee Steinfeld. Still am but back then I thought it was just “omg they’re so pretty and talented!”, which they are, but I later realised it was all more fruity than that. I had gay crushes and didn’t realise it.

I sometimes looked at girls and was like " I really really want to be 'friends' with them"

when I had "crushes" on boys, I couldn't imagine kissing them without cringing. Also, when I m*sturbated, I couldn't imagine my male crushes without being immediately turned off. I thought it was because my feelings for them were too pure or smth... it was not. Also, every time I met a boy, I would find myself trying to think about him in a romantic way, trying to consider being in a relationship with him. It never came naturally though. I always daydreamed about this perfect life with a guy, but he was always too perfect and everything about him was blurry and if I thought about more details about him i quickly became uninterested. I thought it was completely objective that women were more attractive than men. I thought every straight woman feels a little bit of attraction to other women. I really wished I was a lesbian, because I really didn't like the idea of most men but I thought that sadly, I'm straight, there's nothing I can do about it. I watched lgbtq tiktok and youtube and i always felt really like I found my place, only to get sad when remembering i was straight.

I relate to the being a “passionate straight, cis ally” lol 😂

I remember being 8yrs old or so and thinking girls were really pretty but didn't give it much thought. I also had friends who would have crushes on so many guys but I didn't. I felt like I was "not like the other girls" cuz of that 🤢. Anyways fast forward to quarantine, I realized I was gay 🏳️‍🌈💅✨🤪💞

Ok so when I was like 10 me and my friend were playing episode and I said “what if we put ‘likes girls’” for our female character and It really made me feel some type of way. Also I made my Barbie dolls kiss and stuff.👍🌈

It's actually not that uncommon for straight women to watch lesbian porn or gay porn. I've read a lot about this type of thing bc it's fascinating to me generally and as a lesbian. With gay porn, sometimes it can be discomfort with seeing a woman (or imagining themselves as the woman) being submissive and "taken" sexually, maybe there is past experience with SA or discomfort with how women are usually portrayed in porn. It can also be a high attraction to the male body and seeing men intimate without having a woman in the way when you don't enjoy looking at or hearing the woman.

With lesbian porn sometimes it can be a discomfort with the aggressive male body or preferring to just think about her own pleasure without all the porn grunting from men and weird angles of men.

Sometimes it can be simply fetishizing gay/lesbian people, not great. But other times it can come from a genuine desire and preference for certain bodies, sounds, and stimuli and different reasons and desires. The porn industry and mindsets that go along with it can be very complex as well as individual sexuality. All that to say it's not super fair to say whatever porn pairings or fantasies you enjoy automatically define you or your sexuality. They can be a good indicator for many lgbtq+ people but it's just not that simple and straightforward as many would like to believe.

When I was 12 we were talking about crushes in SexEd and the teacher went 'You can have crushes on girls too' and that was that and I didn't even know the word gay but I just felt so happy for a moment. I didn't really think too much about it because I don't think I fully understood what she meant but it was an almost euphoric experience

A sign for me was that I would always seek out compliments from girls and would remember them and relive that moment but I can’t remember a single compliment any guys has given me

I remember finding some girls just really attractive and interesting, but also felt intimidated. When they had a boyfriend I was so disappointed. But I never questioned any of that 😂 also I just thought it was a knewn fact that girls or feminine boys are just so much more beautiful

So I’m a cis lesbian girl. Here are my signs! When I was in elementary school and boys would call each other “gay” in a downgrading kind of way I would tell them that it was wrong and that my cousins were gay (big flex here, we are all now gay cousins). Also, when I had my first major “crush” on a boy (in grade 5) I wrote in my diary that “I am not like those girls who want to have a sexual relationship with their crushes”, later saying that “all I wanted to do was to hug him”. I also have a history of looking away every time a straight couple kisses in a movie because it makes me feel uncomfortable. I can totally relate to liking feminine-looking men! And also the wanting to be closer to your friends thing - I remember in seventh grade gym class there were these two straight girls that would essentially lie on each others laps when we lined up in our groups and I was always super jealous because I wanted to do that with a “friend”.
May I ask to any wlw/wlnb, how do you cope with not being able to play out all the rom-coms you’ve watched? I’m attracted to feminine girls/non-binary folks but I’m also feminine and I just don’t understand who would be they “guy”. Anyone know any good femme/femme lesbian rom-coms? Thank you!
Also, I know this is super long, but I’m essentially a baby-gay and ima till having trouble undertaking what it feels like to like a girl (as most if not all of my boy “crushes” have been mistakes for friendship feelings/ being jealous) and I really do think that I liked my friend and maybe still like her (she knows this, but does not return feelings). I’m just really confused so anything would help!
Also, Keira, thank you for all you do! Love your channel! 🌈❤️

You're sweating and I'm freezing!
also, the kitty! 🥺 aww!
" wow! "
" meow! "

my sign that i was gay is I used to actually be really turned off by lgbtq+ people in a way where it used to make me unconfortable and now like I realized I stayed away bc I was scared of how i would be treated until i met more queer people

Now that I look back to when I was younger, I realize how badly I wanted to be “friends” with some girls… at the time I thought I wanted to be friends or I was jealous… but I think I just had a crush on them lol

I think it was when I would get really angry when my parents thought I would like any boy I was talking with. Like full on anger tears and all of that jazz. My parents and family would be like "Ooh, you want to date him?" or something like that. And this happened so many times since I was really young, like 2nd grade. I also felt forced to have a crush on a boy, like he was a good friend and my parents thought I had a crush on him so I was like "I guess I do have a crush on him?" but I hated the fact of ever being in a relationship with him and when I found out he liked me I just didn't really care.
