Little was known about Joan Marasek and the tigers she bred until New Jersey police started receiving reports from worried residents - a full-size Bengal tiger had been seen wandering around the neighbourhood. When the authorities eventually gained access to her home, they were shocked by what they found - an obsession with tigers that had gone too far and one that would ultimately result in a serious accident. Norman Buwalda’s behaviour with his pet tigers so worried his community that they fought for years to have the law changed. Blood would be spilt twice before the tigers were eventually removed… with one person paying with their life.
