Human society was founded upon the domestication of cattle. From the age of primitive man, the bull and the cow have been the providers and the facilitator to the rise of civilisation. It is undoubtedly one of the most successful partnerships on earth, but the relationship appears to be governed by an unwritten rule. There is a line that should never be crossed. Those who choose to cross that line do so at their peril.
Ricky Weinhold paid with his life when he tried to keep a bull as a pet. The circumstances of his death are so shocking that it took the emergency services hours to locate his body. George Lammlein learned that even though he kept a pet calf called Lucky, his luck ran out when the animal matured into an adult. Texan rancher RC Bridges has gone a step further and keeps a huge pet buffalo called Wild Thing. At one time, he even had his own room in the house. “He’s meaner than a pit bull”, says RC “, but I’d never part with him.”
