🎬FILM SUMMARY 🎬
The Gameboy changed everything when it came to the handheld gaming scene in the late 80s and 90s. Because of this many other game manufacturers dropped out of the market, as they simply couldn't compete. In this mini documentary, we discuss why the Gameboy was difficult to match.

2. The display produced four shades of grey, not green. The green tint was uniform, and was there because green is easier on the eyes during long play sessions.
3. The refresh rate of the screen was 60Hz. That was equal to TVs at the time.
4. The contrast wheel was used to adjust the screen for a variety of lighting conditions and for when the batteries were running low. When low, the screen would get lighter, and the contrast wheel let the user compensate.
5. GB Pocket won't charge your batteries either.
6. Game Boy ran for about 15 hours on Zinc Carbide batteries. It'll run for 30 hours on Alkaline.
7. Again, GB didn't display four shades of green. Also, the power savings were due to better internals and streamlining the design. The screen essentially had nothing to do with that.
8. GBC ran for much longer than ten hours when using Alkaline batteries vs Zinc Carbide.
9. GBC cartridges went up to 8mb, that's correct, but the original Game Boy had carts that topped out at 4mb, not 32kb. 32kb is where they started, not where they ended.
All in all, I enjoyed the video. Nice visuals and skillful editing. Also, please don't think I've been nit-picking. There were several errors I chose not to mention because they were minor and because I appreciate your work. 🙂
