Jamie’s future brother in law Joaquin Phoenix was in one shot

He was 14 and acted more mature than me now 😭😂

That's a well-deserved award for Jamie Bell. His performance and the movie are unforgettable. He's simply awesome. The movie is extraordinary.

He should have also won the Oscar, who shamelessly snubbed him that year. His performance in Billy Elliot is just timeless and what he achieved at such a young age is nothing short of extraordinary.

BAFTA has the balls and courage and taste to award who the Academy won't, many times.

“Russell Crowe said that I have to thank him” has done me in, haha.

He sounded so shy but also so professional at the same time

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Tom Hanks (who was presumably up for the same award) seems to say ‘that’s right’. When an absolute legend thinks that you should win the award, you’re really f***ing good

He played Billy Elliot so well, so beautiful, with so much feelings...

Juaquin Phoenix would never in a million years have thought they would end upon as brother in laws, what a strange world!

Still one of the most heartening films. All the actors in this film were absolutely at the top of their game

What a witty actor Jamie Bell is.

I loved that movie….still do.

Jamie Bell has a spectacular and touching performance in this film and he should have been nominated for an Oscar for best actor for this performance. Not being nominated for an Oscar for best actor for this film is one of the biggest injustices of the Academy that year in that category!

When kids are good in films, it's usually a result of the director. But in this case, Jamie Bell showed extreme ability to transcend into the role, with the skill of a veteran actor. Well deserved.

Love jamie bell. So down to earth, genuine, and talented.

Jamie Bell is yet another extremely underrated actor in a very long list of underrated talents in acting, music, drama, tv... It's a shame but it's how the world works these days!
