There is nobody like him and there probably never will be.
He is uniquely brilliant.
The amazing part is that he is impossible to type cast.
He can do it all

As Abe Lincoln, he is UNMATCHED. I felt as if I had been transported into the civil war era.

How good was Daniel Day-Lewis? Well, I don't remember ever seeing him in a movie, but I remember every character he played in great detail. That's how good.

25 years ago, my dream idea for a comic book based movie was DDL as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He'd never have done something like that but would have been incredible.

The problem is he beats every other actor in every scene you just watch him. He makes you compare every actor to him which makes them inadequate

Put Robert De Niro and Al Paccino together and you still don't get a Daniel Day Lewis. Sometimes i think that this man is weightless. I think that even if he was 90 years old and he had to play the role of a 30 year old marathon athlete he could still pull it through.

Viggo Mortensen tooks a page out of Daniel Day-Lewis when immersing himself in the role of Aragorn. He didn't start cobbling and doing Cabinet making, but he lived the part to his fingertips.

One of the highest compliments I can give is that watching Day-Lewis makes me want to write. Creating a character that completely envelopes the role they are playing is fascinating to me.

Like many geniuses, he is a little bit weird. But it’s all forgiven due to his talent. He may not be a actual genius but in the job of acting, he is.

One of the GOAT, imho.

Marvelous presentation; thank you. It' s fun being in the presence of true genius. I love that Spielberg had to leave the room, crying, after Daniel did a key scene. Wow.
