Unusual Things
9,302 views
Step back into Victorian Brighton, where a shocking murder sent whispers through the streets.
Celia Holloway was found brutally slain - her body hidden in a trunk and carried by cart through the city, unnoticed by those who passed.
In this episode, Paul uncovers the chilling details of the Brighton Trunk Murder, exploring the dark corners of 1830s England, the investigation that followed, and the eerie legacy that still lingers in the churchyard today.
A tale of deception, tragedy, and the secrets buried beneath Brighton’s cobblestones.

Brighton had several “trunk murder” cases across different decades, and some historical sources mix them together. Celia Holloway’s memorial plaque reflects an earlier date connected to her case, which differs from the later Victorian trunk murder timeline. This video discusses one of the versions recorded in period newspapers, so there was a cross over on some of the dates, my apologies.
From True Crime, forgotten Celebrities to eerie cemeteries and Unsolved Mysteries, Unusual Things takes you on a journey to discover what lies beyond the ordinary.
