Sheriff Shows Up & Serves the Trespasser Papers

Keeping It Dutch

In this video things get serious out here on the homestead. The sheriff finally tracked down the trespasser that has been showing up around our property. He came out and officially served him trespassing papers, making it clear he is no longer allowed on this land.

The guy ended up signing the papers, which means if he comes back again he could be arrested and taken to jail for trespassing. Hopefully this finally puts an end to the problem we’ve been dealing with.

But the situation didn’t stop there…

Not long after that, my daughter spotted another trespasser walking down our driveway. Out here in the country we take our property and safety seriously, so we had to figure out what was going on and handle the situation.

Living in the country has its blessings, but sometimes it also comes with unexpected problems like this.

You did the right thing by contacting the sheriff department.

Schedule a Neighbor meeting. Get yourselves together and come up with a game plan that you all agree upon and will all follow. You all need to feel safe in your own areas and on your own property.

I put no trespassing signs up every 20 ft or so, mainly because of one neighbor who had 2 little kids. They continued walking through our woods so we fenced the south end, where their house trailer was. One day I was walking, checking fence lines when I got to where they lived, the signs were torn down and thrown into the brush in our woods, the fence was torn down and an area about 30 ft into our woods and 30 ft wide was cleared and I found 2 lanterns hanging in my trees. That was the final straw. I went to their house and knocked, told them I didn’t want them or the kids in our woods and asked why they tore down the fence and signs. She told me they were cleaning up trash because trash draws rats and snakes and they didn’t want their kids getting bit by snakes. I told her if they stay out of our woods there would not be a chance of getting bitten, or shot. We replaced the fence, I took the lanterns, and replaced the signs. These neighbors were like that guy you are battling. A few months later, they moved. 😋 However she told everyone around us that I was a “crazy lady with a gun” I haven’t had issues with trespassers since. 😁

That's very concerning with that guy continuing to trespass on your property. You and your family should not have go through this. I hope the county will put a stop to it.

When you say you don't feel like going out there and dealing with it you're going to have a problem forever

Dutch, I'm so relieved to see you. I have been worried for you and the family since your last video. Praise the Lord you're all safe.

Trespassers are annoying and can end up squatting. Glad you are on this. Continue to file ASAP trespassing reports

A friend of mine was having the same problem unfortunately the sheriff's office would do nothing. The last time he reported it he told the sheriff that if they didn't handle the problem then he would. They did nothing so he boobie trapped his property and posted signs enter at your own risk or you could be leaving in a body bag. Thanks to his military history he knew exactly how to do it.
