I love the fact that the stat blocks ask questions, it's so important to give GMs the confidence and the capability to create their own scenes, rather than simply have them consume pre-written content. Tools, not rules! Great video, cheers!

Discovered your channel a about a week ago because I was curious about Daggerheart.  I enjoy the way you explain things.  It has really helped a lot.  thanks!

The fact they ask questions like “what treasure is on the riverbed?” is so cool! Hearing that once made me start wondering about how I would describe an exciting sequence where someone gets rolled and scraped along the riverbed by the current, only catching a fleeting glimpse of a flash of silver light or glowing runes as they get carried past. It would be so fun to try and tempt your players back into the water for the chance to retrieve it!

What's great about environments is that a loose plot or map with pre chosen environments basically creates an adventure. I can imagine future adventure guides for Daggerheart that are basically a campaign frame, a map, a few custom adversaries, and 20-30 environments for possible encounters or exploration. Then the game basically runs itself - the player want to go this way on the map? We use the dark woods environment to get there, and then the inn/town/castle has an event environment, etc it relieves the prep for the 'world' and leaves you time to focus on prepping the fights or other encounters.

I made a "Scorching Wastes" environment for my players that pops up over long periods while navigating the harsh desert of the Drylands.

I’ve been waiting for someone to make this video because this is the bit that I’m so excited about and not enough folks have made videos about it. I’m so grateful for your review.

This is an amazing addition to running any game. I do wanna shout out the folks who made Level Up: A5E, because they thought of this exact thing, too. Their Exploration Challenges have made my game so much better for years, and stacking a few of them together to create something like this would be awesome. (The addition of an Impulse is killer, and akin to Monstrous Urges from Worlds Without Number.)

I’m so thankful for this video. It’s my first time as a GM and I decided to use Daggerheart which I also had never played (I’ve watched Crit Role sessions). I’m learning how to use environments effectively and this video really helped!

Best Daggerheart videos out there right now. Thank you!

Just writing out the mechanics of an environment as if it was its own monster is brilliantly simple, I like it alot

I love the idea of social passives based on environment. I would love to see you do more videos focused on exploration for stuff like dc 20 and dnd. There aren't many videos on it.

I think they're a great addition to the game. This is just an extra that you can ignore if you don't care for it, but when you need that extra oomph, it is easy to use and effective

Great video as always btw!

Looks slick! Love mechanics and direct tools to support the exploration pillar of play.

Never heard these mentioned before, this is awesome!

An excellent explanation of Environments!
Thank you for your time and effort.  🎉

I've started to use it for my current DnD campaign

I love the environments and have been using them a lot during the first three sessions I've ran so far!

I need a beastiary from the folks SO bad. =)

The monster manual was always the one book I could justify. I love that everything is in one core book (my first system as such) but stat blocks are an easy go-to for extra books (I don't by adventures or settings =) )

commenting for the algorithm! This video is amazing
