Too Old for What, Exactly?

Video Description:
I've been thinking about being 71.
And I caught myself wondering if maybe I'm too old to do anything substantial or start something new.
Then I looked around at my own life—and at a few people older than me who are still creating, learning, moving and doing amazing things—and I started thinking...

Too old for what, exactly?

In this chatty video I talk about sustainable consistency, walking a mile a day, my Scribble People cards, papermaking, Zentangling, birthday week with Brian, and finally deciding to go ahead with my YouTube membership.

Maybe 71 isn't about slowing down.

Maybe it's about deciding what I still want to do—and then doing it.
Thanks for hanging out with me. 💛

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, "Maybe I'm too old to do that"?
That's what got me thinking in this video—and I'm beginning to wonder if "too old" is a story we tell ourselves that doesn't have to be true.
I'd love to know: What is something you'd still like to try, make, learn, or do? 💛

Another lovely video, Jeri. I totally understand what you mean about your age. When I turned 60, 3 years ago, I thought my life was on a downhill run (which it is) but I started living like it was and then I watch people like you who inspire me to keep dreaming about what I'd like out of my life and to keep working towards something rather than running away from it. Gradually, I am embracing life again and I feel so happy. Keep being you Jeri 🌷🇦🇺

I'm several years older than you and still love learning new crafting skills, etc. I'll be teaching a beginning sewing pop up session at our local arts and crafts recycling shop in Sept. and will see what develops. Kate of the Last Homely House was 70 this year and is always game for learning a new skill or adventure.

So glad you're walking. That's difficult for me but have been doing chair yoga
at home that forces me to move!❤

Oh my goodness Jeri! Seventy one is a great age for creative productivity! I turn seventy seven next week and have never been more creative in my life. I am so grateful the people like you that have inspired me and taught me new things. We have a lot of life yet to live and a lot of love to give and a lot of art to make!

I can’t believe I’ve not seen this before now! Thank you for the inspiration and your kind words re: my art. It is a joyful part of my life! Downloaded your new friend’s book. I’ve been enjoying listening to books while I do my creative things. I’m still trying to recover from the bronchitis I’ve developed. So not very productive lately but still kicking! You’ve been a busy bee! Thank you again for sharing!

Bravo on walking a mile a day! That is huge, Jeri! 🥰 Happy Belated Birthday! 🎂 Like you, I jumped on the Zentangle train and bought all the stuff when it came out and loved it! So calming. Then, I was done and gave it all away and moved on to something else. Looking forward to hearing more about your membership classes. Loved today's video. Sending you love and hugs. 💛💛💛

Good to see you and catch up, Jeri. You have been busy and you will never be too old! I just turned 71 also and of course, I will never complete everything I have planned, but I’m gonna do my damdest! I got on the Zentangle train in 2012. I just love it, although, I’ve slowed down a bit with it, but you’ve inspired me to get back into it again. I love your Ya-Yas from the tiny house. I always appreciate your candor and honesty. And remember to not compare yourself to others. “Comparison is the thief of joy”

Happy Birthday, I will be 75 in October. I never consider myself to old , we still go out and trade at festivals. I always love to try new things. We should all do things that make us happy regardless of age.
