I've never made a Drunkard's Path block before, so while I was up at The Last Homely House with Kate, I asked for her help in getting started!
My quilt making has started again!

Here's a link to Kate's channel at The Last Homely House

and in particular to the video of her scrappy Planets quilt video too

I keep my videos as ad-free as possible, so Thank you to everyone who helps to support my channel over on Kofi

What a joyful video again, Marion. It was great to see you and Kate again and I loved how excited you got after the first curve went well! (Reminded me of when you did your happy pea dance! Lol) Your videos are always such a treat. Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous makes with us! Take care, Rachel.

The light in Marion's eyes' when she is listening to Kate just after Marion sewed her first block - I can see how Marion looked as a school-girl. The experience of seeing that light and joy is fantastic to witness. Much love, from NY.

Thanks for letting us come along on this journey! Your humility made me all the happier for the end result. It's so good to know that even the experts go through this. I feel that the next time I'm faced with a challenge I'll just remember you two and forge ahead. What a team!

I love when you and Kate have a meet up. It's so enjoyable to watch and learn from you both 🥰 I have a Drunkard's Path quilt my Great Grandmother sewed and quilted by hand. It's pink and white and just gorgeous. I'm sure it's well over 100 years old. Needless to say I'm even more excited for updates on this creation. 🥰

Just wanted to say that you can make your rotary cutter lefthanded by unscrewing the bolt, removing everything down to the blade but keep it in the same order. Then you will see that if you turn your rotary cutter with the other side towards you there is a circular bed on which to place the blade just like on the other side. You can now put the bolt through and screw on the side that originally had the blade. That's probably as clear as mud but now you can use it much more naturally. I have passed this tip on to several left handed quilters and they always find cutting much easier. I'm so enjoying you guys sewing together, double the fun!

I am always working on a quilt. Kate is such a patient and encouraging teacher, and you Marion are very intent on learning. I love it, you make a wonderful team and enjoy being together.

I took a long break from quilting as well Marion, about 20 years too. Funnily enough it was finding both you and and Kate’s channels probably within the same day, and starting to watch both of your videos is what made me decide to take up quilting, sewing and embroidery again. You both had a tremendous impact on me and woke up the creative side of me that I felt was dead or at least dormant. It gave me a great deal of pleasure to see the two of you find each other and become friends, and I love seeing it when you do videos together. I thank you both very much for lighting that creative fire in me again.

I love seeing you and Kate together. I chuckled and smiled thru so much of this. 😊 I am a self- taught quilter. Curves are much easier than we at first think. You did awesome. I'm trying to learn embroidery now at 61 years old. It would be wonderful to live near you and Kate. 😊 we could ask each other questions and learn from each other, all while having a good laugh and a cup of tea. Have fun quilting.
