Mom’s family was pure Scot and German of the early 1700s South Carolinian land owners and were farming pre Revolutionary War. There were several unknown British soldiers buried and marked on the side of their family cemetery. As were civil war soldiers unaware the war had ended.
Mom’s family’s multiple members also received plots in lowland and inlet areas. I remember we’d go shrimping & crabbing as wee kids. The beaches weren’t busy or crowded. I miss those days. I grew up in the early 1960s, a time long gone. The women all cooked and baked like no one’s business.
My parents eventually purchased land on the Gulf (even tho dad wanted to retire in Nicaragua - he was in charge of water projects most of his life) & eventually sold it after enjoying deep sea, pier fishing and diving - as I’m selling mine this summer. Tourism, crowds and local politics have destroyed our area beaches. No respect for our resources, tbh.
Psychedelics need to be respected, we face our shadow sides (I’ve tripped on numerous substances), ultimately I reached a stopping point when I was seeing ancient script in front of my eyes - “I knew that, I already know that, huh - this isn’t new”. I got clean & sober years later and I’ve found I can eat a small portion of an edible or have a drink w/out craving more. I haven’t mentioned that I was gifted with clairvoyant dreams for my entire life - I had a “Creator” experience in a gold shaft of light, sober and miraculous. I’ll never not believe in the loving and healing One Source.
I appreciate this interview. It reminds me of how we’re all connected and the frailty of our imbalances. Healing is personal and opening up to our own truths takes courage. I’m proud of Shep and hope he finds a love or relationships in which he finds mutual support and respect. Shep doesn’t need to be anyone but himself. TV doesn’t always portray the truth.
