You didn’t start your day thinking you would watch a documentary about birdwatching. None of us did. It’s that good.

Figured I'd watch the first 5 minutes of this. Two-hours later I've downloaded ebird, entertained the idea of a birdwatching road trip, and watched one of the best documentaries I've ever seen...

This is feels like an old-school skate video, but about birding. GOATed algorithm pull.

a work this good begs the question of what hollywood studios are even doing with their millions of dollars, if a single man and his brother can make a film of this calibre and with so much heart. in fact it's so good that i must assume it was a huge sunk cost financially, because it is so clearly a labour of love. not only love of birdwatching, but love of filmmaking too. the editing, humour, film effects, stop motion, soundtrack, etc, were all so top notch and perfectly done. like ten minutes in (lewis and clark scene) i was already sharing this video to anyone who ever mentioned birds to me in recent memory, and also many who haven't. like how birding can be a peaceful escape for birders, i know this film will become a whimsical escape for me on tough days when i just need a laugh and a reminder of how silly and awesome people can be. THANKS OWEN AND QUENTIN U GUYS KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK

I want my brother to watch this because this film is about brothers; I want people who play outside to watch this because this is what it's like to play outside; I want folks from all over the world to watch this because I feel like there is so much great American culture in here; I want artists, adventurers, and dreamers to watch this because this is all of those things. This is remarkable, and it really has made a great impact on me. Thank you for making this and sharing it with us.

I would have paid money to watch this in a theater, and I would have enjoyed every minute of my viewing.This is one of the most engaging and enjoyable documentaries I've watched.

Then astonishment hit me that this is your first real video published to YouTube. 8 or so months of editing, a year of filming, and who knows how long you planned this for. Great job. My mother, born in 1923, managed fairly late in life to become a 700 North American Life Lister, not the rich big year kind of chaser, just someone who hated being idle, loved clear rules and structure, was covertly competitive, and had the determination to make my father drive her all over in pursuit of birds to check off her list. That achievement gave her great pride, maybe for the first time in her life about anything she'd achieved. This film brought back memories of my mother's pursuits, but leavened with so much humor that I laughed throughout. Thanks for making this delightful film.
