I fully believe that Elise was supposed to win cycle 1 but then producers had no choice but to eliminate her instead because it would undermine the show itself. I believe this because Elise was the better model BUT Elise was also vocal about caring more about school than modeling and that modeling was more of a side thing and not her dream. And ANTM wants a model whose dream is to model, time and again you see them harping on models wanting it or not wanting it. And they can’t have someone who didn’t take modeling as seriously as becoming a doctor become the FIRST winner ever?  

And I think this would also contribute to why Adrienne didn’t get all her prizes. Wilhelmina didn’t want Adrienne… especially didn’t Adrienne confirm she was high like half the time when filming? That plus Elise having the better portfolio I’m not surprised that Wilhelmina prioritized Elise over her.
