UK Just Changed the .22 LR Market Forever

Somewhere in a locked cabinet in a British gun shop right now sits a box of ammunition that the government has just decided, by law, not to touch. Not because nobody thought about it. Because for once, when the paperwork was finished, one caliber came out the other side completely untouched. We have been putting lead into the ground through shooting sports for more than 150 years, and for the first time, Britain has drawn a legal line straight through the middle of its own ammunition market and left one cartridge standing on the safe side of it, at the exact same moment the rest of the world's ammunition industry started getting more expensive to reach. And the strangest part is that almost nobody selling that cartridge seems to have noticed what just landed in their lap.
