Locs keep you from snapping off your hair as you manipulate it in styling; especially the tighter the curl is.

The exiting strands — is that what causes those white pieces within the loc?

No locs doesn’t make your hair grow faster and locs becomes damaged and broken when not taken care of as well. It may appear that locs grows faster because the hair you normally shed when not loc’d is shed into the loc. People should grow locs because they want to grow locs not because they couldn’t do what it took to retain length without locs thinking if they grow locs they’re going to automatically have long hair. Hair is hair and growth is based on genetics, retained length is based on “how” you take care of your hair, regardless of it being loc’d or not.

I always love your lessons and your phlilosophical musings. ❤You are always an inspiration. ❤❤❤Let's also remember a person's genes. Some people because of the gentic make up, will not pass a certain length and thats OK. I think we need to be mindful of this and embrace this concept more.
