Hi, I'm Joy! I share my experience with Sisterlocks, CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia), scalp health, and caring for locs after 40. My goal is to provide honest experiences, practical tips, and encouragement for women navigating their own loc journey.
I have around 360 Sisterlocks. My hair looks full and it's growing, and I also have central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA), a form of scarring hair loss that's often seen in Black women. In this video I show how both things can be true. I cover how I found out, why you can't always see it, what it changes about my retightenings, wash days and scalp care, where my treatment stands, and the emotional side of loving my locs while living with hair loss.
If everyone tells you your hair "looks fine" but you know something is changing, this one is for you.
