Won’t you need a bigger kitchen table for all these projects. You need a proper work bench so you can leave things stripped down.

My man, the original EP was a ten inch with a purple cover. And if you were to just look at the cover of the album you are holding, all of the tracks are listed right on the album cover as part of the artwork.

This Grundig is an OEM Technics SL-Q2 - the tonearm gimbal is a dead giveaway. It's many decades old so the electronics will be worth servicing if you want good rotational accuracy. The RPM or Turntable Speed apps are useful in order to get a feel for where it's at before making adjustments

morning mr muddy :hand-pink-waving: looks like your turning into a turntable workshop i got a couple here that dont work i will send them over :face-blue-smiling: and hope the new channel goes well so good luck mate and happy campervaning  rattlesnake

Great to see you both again. So what's the plan Neil going forward.. two turntables permanently set up? Or three once you get the Goldring Lenco restored? Cheers - D

No ground.

Hi Neil and Jane.
Wonderfull to see you messing around with equipment.
And wonderfull to see Jane for the first time you have a lovely wife.
Gr André de vries.

I've never heard a cartridge requiring 0.5g, that's sounds way too low.
Most carts are somewhere between 1.5 and 4.5g

Hi Neil doesn’t the Billie have an internal phono stage?

Great to see Jane, you did good Neil !! 👍✌️

AUDIO TECHNICA AT71 cartridge is designed to have 1.5 - 2.5 g tracking force. I do not know of any modern cartridge that tracks as low as 0.5g.

have you checked the tonearm's alignement ? it needs to be parallel to the platter . then.set the tracking force (in grams) that you cartridge allows and finaly , ajust you anti-skating to the same weight as you cartridge

You went from 0.5g to 3.5g tracking. I'd always start at 2g with an unknown arm. That arm is compromised by the fully automatic function but it looks decent.

Yeah but the waxwing is DSP it turns it into a digital signal I don't think there's any straight analog in that device
you have to pull the stylus from the cartridge down not straight out. You got to make sure your power cables are nowhere near your RCA or other type of connection cable I see it's crossing over at the turntable and other places looks like keep the power on one side tie them together and the same of the RCA's on the opposite side tie them together. Yeah you going to get Distortion if you're playing at half a gram some cartridges are designed to be played at three and a half grams or more if it's a DJ cartridge stylus very possible and is that weight correct depends how you set it up best to use a scale

Gadgetman, you just love a gadget. 🤣🤣

I’ve been away from YouTube for a while. When did Jane start appearing on camera!? lol. I’ve got a lot of videos to catch up on lol

Horray, guest apperance from Jane :)

Howdy Jane!

Rega have a new entry level turntable due for release in October ... and its something special 😉.
Its a skeletal subchasis turntable complete with arm and cartridge for £259 😮.

Jane is a truly beautiful lady Neil.
She must be much younger than you surely?? 😉 😊
