So glad to see this trend being supported by the community. Also nice to know there are some lenses that have remained unchanged for decades like the Zeiss Biogon series.

Here I am, 12:14 a.m. after a day of pre-production, packing gear for a two day shoot the next day. Watching a Cam Mackey video. Life is good.

The images have a romantic quality as if a memory.This is one beautiful lens, thanks for sharing and bringing it to my attention.

These look like how pentax SMC takumars render. The halo and softness that's layered with sharpness is a specific look. Also some of those older Zeiss lenses with that same silver/black focus grip look have the vibe.

rendering reminds me of the old Minolta lenses. 58mm MD 1.4 and 1.2 variants.

If only this lens still said P. Angenieux Paris on it…I’m a sucker for those cool old lens maker names and script. The optics and build quality however are stunning, another great release from Light Lens Lab.

painterly for sure.. perfect descriptor. thanks for the content

Another banger! For someone that knows what they’re doing vintage is where it’s at man!

Wow, you got a lot of really stunning shots here! It is really cool to see the esoteric lenses LLL decides to recreate. Not enough companies are leaning into this sort of lens design; instead, they're just chasing sharpness.

VFX artists that are also into photography actually love lenses with tons of characters/imperfections, chroma abbs, vignetting, distortion, lens breathing , we have to add them back to the cg to match the plate.

Love it man!! I'd love to get one!

Incredible texture. These are some of the very best photos you've shot.

Thank you so much for your sharing. I share the same view of photography as a means of creativity, that technically correct photo is not the only choice.

These photos look insane. Love everything about this.

The character reminds of the Zeiss 50mm 1.4 EF mount.

@LucasHJX 6 months ago

the lens blurred in the background is interesting

It's so true! Thanks Cam. Cheers from France

Stunning shots! I would not be surprised if lenses with more character start popping up more from companies. Some popular vintage lenses have gone up in price as well from what I have seen. I am all for companies making more lenses like this!

@linotslr 6 months ago

Damn that’s a beautiful shot! And the look is so good, love the character 🙌🏻 all my clean lenses are collecting dust at the moment 😅

I have to say. This is the best review of this lens that I have seen so far. I had been deciding between the LLL 50mm SPII and the LLL Z21, but your review has genuinely convinced me. I am now planning for this to be my next lens purchase.
