I started watching your videos not because I'm a knitter (I'm not), but because of your thoughtful and compelling takes on creativity, political history, craft and various intersections, and how that impacts daily creative life. It does not surprise me that you have other outlets and explorations that you want to pursue - and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with things. I'm interested in seeing 'content creators' move away from an idea of personal branding that means only being one thing, because that idea is not human, or creative. And we (you and your followers) are both.

Love your insights and your cat made me smile 😊

I'm only 12:51 min in and I resonate so much with this. I too am tired on watching the same patterns and the same yarn talked about over and over as well as watching the same types of videos (best ravelry patterns, what's in my knitting bag, hot takes etc). And now I'm finding joy in being creative with what I already have. I'm using my yarn to make a colorwork sweater of my own design using a pattern I already have that fits me well that was meant for stockinette with just one color. And I'm getting so much more joy flexing my creativity

Hehe sweet little kitty.
'Craft money and power' has made me think of my crafting as working, not rest. My most recent project was making cloth menstrual pads - it was fun and I didn't have to, but it also contributed economically to my household. I rest more now! For me, rest isn't knitting while I watch TV - rest is JUST watching TV, or just reading a book.
It's also made me more likely to do care tasks around the house. If crafting is now a care task, then maybe I do have the spoons to put the dishes away?

I so relate to my creativity not being defined to one medium. I’m constantly switching back and forth between collage, textiles, watercolor, sketchbook, writing etc.

Wow, this video is incredibly underrated I’m SOO lucky to have found this channel
Thank you so much for creating this kind of content, it really stops and makes me think about the kinda of crafter and artist I want to be and what I want to create

Yes! Have loved this channel for awhile - even more now!!! Really resonate with all you shared. I've mostly worked from stash (or items purchased from other people destashing) and I find it makes for a fun, creative challenge to find patterns/ideas that fit that constraint: what I have, available patterns (ideally free!) & what I'll actually wear or share. Looking forward to more videos! :)

When you speak about knitting as a practice, it reminds me that when I started knitting (mid-2000s), there was a fair amount of discourse in the knitting internet about “product knitters” verses “process knitters”. It was considered perfectly normal for someone to enjoy the process of knitting regardless of whether they ended up with a finished object or not. But I feel like that opinion has become much less visible online in the past 15 years.

Really enjoyed this video - the entire series have me lots to consider and this video did the same.

I feel that after getting off social media and watching your Craft Money and Power series, I'm so much more compelled to only knit things I myself or other people I love consider useful. I usually knit when watching tv or speaking with other people because having something in my hands to make makes me have a lot more capacity for those things, especially being sociable. Not looking directly at a screen is such a good thing for me 😂 I then don't really care how long a project takes anymore- it's about the process, not the output.

That being said, I can't knit while watching your videos because the animations are so much better than anyone else's on this platform 😂

Looking forward to seeing what you create next!

Haha I love your cat! Another video that makes me think differently about my hobbies. Thank you. I really love your approach to content.

I'm sorry, but the cat had a valid point ! 😂
It was an interesting video as always. I don't feel the same as you about my consuming of knitting content but I think it's mostly because I don't produce content myself. I watch a mix of channels, for pattern ideas, but also ways of modifying those patterns... but mostly people I enjoy watching talk 😅 and you're a part of that list, so thank you for that ! And thanks for the link to you kofi, I searched it the other day but couldn't find it... I forgot the "ing" at the end of homesteading, maybe that's why 🤷‍♀️

❤️🌸🐑 (I don’t have a yarn emoji haha)

I love Ashtanga yoga! I am not disciplined enough to practice the full primary any longer, but I am very glad to have learned as much as I have from the practice and the teachers continuing to lead the Mysore room here in Baltimore. ❤

1st❤❤ hiiii
