Slowly becoming my favourite YT channel for allotmenting 🙏🏽

Another informative video. I like how you  explain everything in an easy to follow manner. New subscriber.

Thanks for such a practical guide! I really appreciate how you explained the importance of selecting the right cloves and why it's better to avoid unnecessary soil disturbance. Happy growing 🧄🧄

10/10 for the thumbnail Loz. Great looking soil after the Squash, looks like a good bed for the Garlic harvest

Love your videos Loz, really helpful for me. :D

Such a good video. Your channel by far covers more of everything in such practical detail compared to all the other channels out there, it's utterly brilliant and so informative! Whenever I start watching newbie channels and they are asking all the questions or making mistakes etc I always point them to your channel, especially for the way you look after your soil and how you make your compost. Fantastic and such inspirational work 🙂

Well done Loz, another very informative video and great success with the squash. Allium leaf miner is a big problem down here and virtually everything else I grow has something that wants to eat it apart from me. I net virtually everything now.
Going to the garden centre tomorrow to buy some Garlic cloves :)

Thanks for this. I’m planting fall garlic for the first time this year. Just getting the bed ready in the next week or so. Our garlic will sit in the ground and “wait” to grow until spring (April/May next year).
What a brilliant harvest of pumpkins! Was that from ONE plant?! Wow. 😮

Just doing the same with my garlic. That bed looks so good. I'm in the process of building a good soil, but it's fundamental.

Great job Loz, I have done some but I saw some amazing quality cloves at the local produce shop so I thought I’d do a comparison 👍. Fab amount there 🎉🎉 , happy planting, Ali ☔️🥶☔️☔️🇨🇦

Glad I watched this video, I think I planted my garlic too deep last year and had a fair amount of rot, especially on the hard necks.  The soft necks and Elephant garlic faired better though. Need to find a few more decent cloves though, the stuff I ordered online a few weeks ago was rubbish!

Nice group of pumpkins 🎃 🎃🎃🎃🎃

Good one my mate! Yep, it's time. Managed to get half a bed prepped on Saturday and shall finish the job tomorrow. A bed left pretty fallow this year, with Korean mint and marigolds in to help drive nematodes out. It's clear now. I'm giving it a shallow top dressing of compost and teased in with a fork. I'll plant the garlic next weekend methinks, then top dress with some soily composted woodchip and cover to keep the covids out. Only seems a year since doing the last lot.

best to you, Roy, North Yorkshire

Put my garlic in two weeks ago up already Tesco's spring white Spanish garlic bulbs

I remember last year, you go quite early on the garlic! I'm still sticking to end of October, just after the full moon. I have seen some sprouted, so may see how earlier gets on.

Hi Loz,  Thanks for the rundown on selecting and planting the garlic cloves. Regarding the selection of the cloves, it did cross my mind if there was a definite weight cut off point in which cloves are visually considered planters or eaters. Obviously fat (plump) cloves stand out for selection - but I wonder if some of the rejected slimmer individuals - based on shape, in actuality have a reasonable mass, with which to potentially produce a strong plant.
Crazy amount of material coming in and being shredded - resulting in a good green / brown mix for the moment. Then the blackthorn / hawthorn hedges, which will keep me occupied for a good two weeks. Which reminds me, those originally supplied blades from FM are not the world's best! (my opinion only). Pushing my luck and sowing phacelia tomorrow, just for a winter mulch. Shall see how far they grow. P.

Were did u get your bulbs loz?

Hey I was just wondering how you preserve all your garlic? I love garlic, I would probably buy it in ice-cream if I could 😅 i can't wait till next year when my first lot is ready 😊

Where do you get your volcanic rock from? Have you got a link to it? Deb
