I'm sick and tired of reading all these comments about Jack lord you spent the entire video basically downing him half of it isn't true. He was a perfectionist and yes he liked to have things done the way he felt was right. He took control of the show after Leonard Freeman died and wanted to make it a success just like any boss of any business they expect their employees to give their best and Jack expected the cast  and  crew to do the same after all they were getting paid to do a job. Several guest stars abuse the situation. They had two weeks free board and lodge and a very generous salary to appear in the  show. One guest star took her children along and called Jack difficult because he wouldn't allow family members on set because he thought it was a distraction how many people take their kids to work with them and expect them to be accommodated in a four star hotel. The fact that James and Jack didn't get on too well was probably true but then you don't have to be friends with everyone, you work with. I've had correspondence with people that were on the show including one of the  real police officers who appeared I he's he told me that Jack was a very kind and sociable person many other people have said the same thing it's especially the local people. Most of the disparaging press reports were because they were jealous of his success and  because he wouldn't give any reason for scandal which is what the press at the time always wanted so  they made up stories about him and his ego you say he became a recluse after 50 ended but he did attend functions and awards and he also travelled with his wife to make up for the years that they didn't have vacations. He also wrote  answered letters to fans as late as 1988 and I have copies of them. It was never proved that he had Alzheimer's, but I've accepted that he did towards his last years as it was revealed to me by someone close to the lords  but it always bugged me that Americans  and reporters treated the disease as if it was a crime. just like they did years ago with AIDS.. having any kind of  disease is nothing to be ashamed of and Jack was not one for complaining about his health. He had severe arthritis which is noted in some of the episodes but he had never acknowledged it. The man did not deserve all the trashy articles that were made against him during his working life. He was an honourable and generous philanthropist one of the most hard-working actors on TV and for me he is my hero and will never be forgotten, he was loved by the Hawaiian people and was honoured by them and the proof of his generosity was the fact that he left at $40 million the kind of man you have been describing would not have done that. It would be nice to see a video praising all the things that he did do like visiting the hospitals and the  veterans the children's charities he supported even buying land to give back to the state to protect birds and plants. He was on the save the whale project and many other causes.. so let's give the man his justo praises for who he was. He was a loyal and faithful husband unlike many actors who play around he loved and adored his wife and was married nearly 50 years and he never turned a child away who asked for an autograph as well as members of the public again I've seen testament to this many times over I run a group for Hawaii Five-0 and I had 150 comments made  by local people and all but one said good things about him. One older member of my group  said Jack spent several days a week at the Kehala mall after  he retired  and used to sit and chat with him, so much for not being unsociable. . At least he had a plaque to him as well as one to honour his service in the Marines. So all in all Jack was a hard-working perfectionist, but at the same time was a kind generous and in my opinion one of a kind.  One great man in my opinion.

At the end of the day Jack Lord was Hawaii Five 0 he genuinely loved the part of McGarrett and put everything in to it, according to Kam Fong at a convention he said the Jack and Jimmy were friend's more than the rest of the cast and I think this to be true, James always defended Jack about anything negative said about him, he also was allowed by Marie to see Jack before he died if they were the bitterest of enemies there is no way she would of allowed that. It broke James heart to see his old friend and colleague in such a bad way, I just hope they have now met up in the next world as I feel sure they have, God Bless them both.🙏

Jack Lord is the only one I love to all celebrities then and now .May he Rest Peacefully in Heaven and his wife Marie .Thank you for sharing (7/29/26)

Sorry to see they weren’t friends!!😢

I thought James and Jack are friends too sad!
