I'm glad that drinking alcohol is no longer glamorized.

it's good for me to hear these stories. They help me stay sober.

I had a friend who died in a way very similar to the way Holden died. Great guy, great artist, died alone from a stroke, not discovered for days. What a waste.

Slightly off-topic here, I’m just wondering how many lives Robert Conrad destroyed by drinking?

I have read several of these accounts years ago. Fame is dangerous. It cannot protect anyone from addictions .Mitchem also was a daily pot smoker long before it was legal. As a recovering alcoholic all I can say is “There but for the grace of God go I.”

Stories like these are a good reminder not to drink too much and to always know when it’s time to stop.

Hollywood glamourized drinking and smoking up till fairly recently. Many of these old actors smoked and drank themselves to death.

Ava Gardner drank like a fish too.

Rip Torn lived out in rural Connecticut. It is here where he went off the rails.

Alcohol will steal everything you love. Leaves a empty shell old and withered. Addiction is a slow death that most dont win.

The children of a sister of a well known Hollywood star had two sons who lived severely limited lives as a result of fetal alcohol syndrome.

I hate to think what I would do with fame and fortune.

my older sister told me about the benefits of silver such as drinking from a silver cup or eating with silver utensils. I have many trophies from my racing days that have silver goblets on them, and my sister suggested that I drink from one of those for the medicinal benefits of the silver, which they have done for centuries because they noticed the power of silver and its ability to keep things from going bad such as water stored in a silver lined container.. my sister is very curious and reads reads reads about the benefits and the quacks of medicine. She will not get a flu shot. She is against vaccines. And she is of the opinion that pharmaceutical companies just want to keep everybody medicated on something for profit.. So it was refreshing to hear her say something positive about something like garlic and vitamin K and vitamin C and vitamin D and silver.

Warning no one ever ever found the answers to emotional pain in the bottom of a bottle of alcohol. It's a very sad that it takes over lives this is not a judgement but a warming.
