Original Interview: 9NEWS interviews John and Patsy Ramsey

On the morning after Christmas 1996, Patsy Ramsey called 911 in Boulder, Colorado, frantic about a ransom note saying her 6-year-old daughter, JonBenét, had been kidnapped. Police arrived to a confusing scene: a two-and-a-half page handwritten ransom note had been left on the stairs, demanding the oddly specific sum of $118,000. Yet, tragically, little JonBenét was soon found dead in the family’s basement, her body bound with rope and duct tape over her mouth. An autopsy later revealed she had been strangled and struck on the head, suffering a skull fracture, and showed signs of possible s**ual a**ault. In the house that night were only JonBenét’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, and her 9-year-old brother, Burke. In the nearly 29 years since, this high-profile murder case remains unsolved, tangled in conflicting evidence and competing narratives that have baffled both the public and seasoned investigators. This is my nonverbal analysis of an interview done by 9News.

I've always believed that someone in that family was abusing her, and the rest of the family knew it and kept it quiet. This is sadly a very common thing. Her death wasn't on purpose, but afterward the family closed ranks to hide it and protect the abuser. Again, very common. It makes me so angry to think of how justice will almost certainly never come for this poor little girl.

Unfortunately 9 yrs old isn’t too young. During my time working in special education we had a 9 yr old put the school on lockdown; he was throwing chairs and desks around the classroom, all because he didn’t win something. A different kid, 8 yrs old, lost it so badly it messed my back up and put me on leave for 3 months. Sucks, but it happens.

Remember that during the 911 call patsy said ‘why is this happening to me’ many times. This internally focused statement. A parent whose child is missing would have said something more external like ‘where is she’

More complicated cases have been solved. But a child foubd in her own home remains cold. It wreaks of a cover-up made possible by affluent people. John Ramsey has never shown emotion, too busy trying to be clever in interviews. And he can talk about police screw ups yet they invited loads of people into the home. Who in a state of fear would think to get on the phone?! They acted weird straight from the beginning!

It was not a "good point" when John said "we could have just said we forgot about the pineapple." The Ramseys HAVE to deny any knowledge of the pineapple, because they have claimed JB was sound asleep when they got home and she never woke up. Obviously if she ate pineapple, that can't be true. Initially, John had said he read a story to JB before bed, and the Ramseys couldn't change their story again. Therefore, they have to deny all knowledge of the pineapple.

I still can’t help but wonder if her brother did it….anyone saying a 9 year old isn’t capable of that has never met a severely abused kid, I know about this personally. Even if it wasn’t the brother, it was absolutely someone within the home or someone they knew personally, all the evidence points to it coming from within.

this case drives me crazy… i have watched countless videos on it, and there is never any new evidence that alludes to exactly who committed this crime…

PLEASE please please, analyze the twin flames cult leaders! They recently recorded interviews with an investigative journalist and it's fascinating to contrast their demeanor with the cult members interviewed.

People watch too many cop shows and movies with copaganda-- the police say 'if you're innocent, you don't need a lawyer. Just help us out! If you ask for a lawyer, that will just make you look guilty.'

Cops do not care about you. They can lie to you, but if YOU lie to cops, they can arrest and charge you.

Cops just want to close the case up as much as possible. They don't care if you're guilty or innocent. ALWAYS, always ask for a lawyer. Guilty, innocent, always, always ask for a lawyer.

If you read the ransom note you can actually see the connections between what the ramseys were hoping would play out according to the note. The note specific states actions they want the ramses to take. Attache/ beown suitcase. They probably were going to put her body in that and drag it out in the suitcase.Pretending like they're going to the bank. But then they're supposed to put the money in a brown paper bag? The note mentioned stuff about the head of their daughter.That's why there's a thing around her neck. The note even says for them to get rest because they have been up all night writing the note! BDI and it was a cover up

patsy wrote the note

The reason why they put 118,000 for ransom money was to let the cops think it was someone who worked for John and knew his bonus. That is where they messed up, because if someone at his work knew his bonus amount, they would have also known John was worth millions and asked for millions. I believe they were planning to take her on their trip and dump her somewhere to never be found again and they would claim the kidnapper never called for the ransom money. So this is why a small ramson amount which they were able to get right away. When the BPD told John not to leave Boulder, his plans had to change.

These parents are so fake it makes me sick

Too many things about this case just baffle me. The note just makes no sense, at all, and if I thought someone had been inside my house and taken my child, I wouldn't want anyone to touch anything. At all. The fact that they invited friends over and carried on cleaning up potential evidence just blows my mind. However, I don't see anyone in this family staging such a gruesome scene including evidence of sexual assault on their six year old. Nothing about this makes sense.

Burke had Hi-Tech sneakers, as known at the time and admitted to by Burke himself on the Dr. Phil show. John Ramsey had Naval history of which tying knots was obvious skill. Burke had sailing lessons and scouts of which tying knot skills was obvious. Patsy also had knot tying skills through family sailing, rock climbing, & probably her art.

@Sparklynrosy 1 year ago

John was in the Navy would know how to tie different knots

@kristinmcgary8926 1 year ago

You can not convince me that Burke didn't hurt her, and the parents didn't cover it up.

42:26 I do find it interesting that he said he’d just been told his daughter was dead considering he was the one who found her. Could just be him phrasing it different but it seems like he’s taking a more passive role in the situation
