being chased by ICE conjured up a completely different image in 2025...

"They put two k's instead of one. Which begs the question... Y2K?" That is the best pun Kurtis has ever made, maybe ever

To be fair, the main reason that Y2K wasn't the disaster it could have been was a lot of work done by a lot of very tired IT people.

So as someone who was a bit more tuned in with the y2k stuff, it was genuinely going to be an issue that could have had some serious ramifications. But the reason it feels like "and then nothing happened" is because there was basically an industry wide effort to fix and patch a bunch of systems to make sure that critical things didn't break.

I love to think that some ancient Mayans were creating their calendar and thought "Right, all the way to 2012. This was hard to make, but I'm sure that the people of 2012 won't mind making a new calendar once this one's time is up.".

Imagine kurtis just sitting in front of his computer, writing the new script, and he notices the 2 ks. A single tear rolls down his face.

can we all just appreciate how the universe came together specifically so Kurtis could make the best y2k joke of all time

So tired of Hollywood casting adults as kids on movies, that kid in "The Last Stand Mixer" was obviously over 15.

“We survived 2012, at what cost 😭” was not expecting that but truth 😭

I remember hearing my grandparents talking about how we would have to get horses after y2k, because all the cars would stop working, and let me tell you... I was so. Fucking. Excited.

I wanted that damn horse.

I got married in 2012, about a week before the world was supposed to end. By that point I didn’t buy it, but I figured if the world did end, spending the last week of existence married to my best friend would be the best way.
