Eastenders was great during this era. The murky underworld of gangsters!

Paul was always one of the coolest characters

I felt nervous watching this. Excellently acted.  Poor Paul!

Terrific actor. Was one of the best this show ever had. Was such a stupid move to kill him off. Early and mid 2000's was the best era of Eastenders imo.

Such A shame that he was going to try to go straight and turn down Hunters offer until he heard his dad slagging him off.. Great acting though this is when EastEnders was watchable.

I've not watched Eastenders in about 15 years but in my younger years I watched it religiously

Paul saw that his family could pay for his mistakes and took responsibility. Even though it was unfair, he sacrificed himself to protect them. Commendable.

This era of EastEnders had a much darker tone. The acting was intense and although many of the characters were villainous they had depth and dimension that made EastEnders very entertaining and thought provoking.

The quintessential Black Brit, weathered and hard, Paul was A True man.

I hate how the police forced Paul to grass then left him in the lurch.

Patrick saying to Paul he hope's he finds peace and paul saying he could use some sleep gave me chills....knowing that he's gonna die  and has accepted it is too heartbreaking. Fantastic actor

Watching this after seeing the picture of Patrick, Paul and Anthony on this Xmas episode. What a brilliant character this guy was - so underrated and phenomenal actor
