What should I explore next?

Back in the mid 90’s the fish finder showed the depth at 60 feet over towards the dam.

Awesome adventure,  to those who metal detect please fill your holes don't give us a bad name,  even under a lake.

The gravel roadbed you guys walked on was indeed the trolley line, evident by the power line stumps you saw following it. The trolley line was part of the Ogden Rapid Transit that built the line to Huntsville in 1915. It was operated by several companies for almost two decades before the tracks were pulled up for construction of the dam. most of the ORT lines are gone, so the section that has been under water all these years is really cool to see!

My Aunt’s parents had a farm some where in the lake bed before the dam was built. Some of the foundations you found may have been part of their farm. When the dam was built they moved to Oregon and bought a farm there.

My wife and I drove up there Friday Oct 2nd.  We had no idea that it was drained.  When we first saw it we thought the drought was much worse than we originally thought.  We talked to some people and they said it was drained to put a new pipeline.  We didn't walk out on the lake bed, we just stayed on dry land and I took pictures.  I brought my drone but I didn't even think to use it.  Probably because we didn't come up to Huntsville just to see the dam.  We wanted to see if there were any good fall colors.  Not yet.  Now it makes me want to go back with my drone.

I can't thank you enough for posting this. It's amazing to think of the history that land saw before the reservoir went up. Great drone footage as well!

I lost my Oakley sunglasses there in 2018. Near the west side of the lake. Let me know if you find them.

Tim! That looks amazing! I haven't been to the valley in forever and had no idea they were draining the reservoir.  Hey, you should come to my engineering classroom at CHS and I'll give you a tour!

Seriously. These potholes are what gives metal detectors a bad name. Fill them holes people!
The stream is the south fork of ogden river inlet.

I am pleasantly surprised to see how clean it looks.  At least on the surface.  Expected to see a ton of trash and possibly some animal carcasses.  Thank you for filming and posting.  Good job.🙂

I grew up on this dam...seven generations of my family Ogden proud right n'yah!

I was born in 1951 in Ogden. Many times during the course of the summer on Sunday afternoons My parents would take my brother and I and any relatives that came to town on drives up Ogden Canyon.
I still remember the two lane road that  could be traveled from south to north across the end of the dam near the Anderson Cove area.
There were a set of powerlines alongside the road that was prior 1957 and I was only six years old, but I still retain memories of what it was like before they raised the dam.

A lot happened since around the 4th of July when we were there! Amazing how quickly that can drain. Thanks for the drone views.

Very cool video and it’s interesting to see what the area looks like with Pineview being drained. I haven’t been there since the early 90s. Thanks for sharing!

Nice little scout trip for the day, up to pineview reservoir Ogden Utah. You gave us nice shots from the drone, and it was cool you found at least a couple of springs. Music was perfect to. Thankyou

Now is the time to make some rock piles. Bass love to stay close to rock piles and stumps under water.  The little stream is a called a creek channel when under water.  It will hold fish there also when water is back

Wow! It has emptied out a lot since I was last up there. I found some neat old things around some of the foundations that were exposed when I went. It's a pity that a lot of people are up there digging massive holes and leaving trash and not cleaning up after themselves.

Lived in the Valley for 25 yrs, 11 yrs worked as a boat ranger & got to know the lake very well.
Theres still several old ranch home foundations in middle inlet, telephone poles along the old roads.
Theres an old clay mine on the west side of north arm that the early pioneers used to make bricks for the homes & businesses.
In south arm there was a little town that was flooded.
There was a train track that went up the canyon into the valley that was used to haul sheep, wool, cattle, beets.

Go to the county and look through the old land record abstract books if you want to find more information. Some of the more populated counties have their abstract books online.
