Mark Higgins looked to the be the class of the field once again as the Irish and British Rally Championships went head to head on the Ulster Rally. However, a lucky escape and mechanical maladies meant he was to finish in eighth place. Eugene Donnelly took the win to take the Championship fight to the last round, but Tim McNulty pushed him all the way.

How good was RPM, it was an incredible program for the early 2000’s. Wouldn’t be out of place now.

Everyone gives the modern rally 1 wrc cars all of the glory but these were special, there R1s couldn’t even dream of 130 let alone through a tight uneven jumpy road.
t’s hard to explain the feeling, I’ll walk around the new cars and it will just be another car, nothing special.
When I would walk around these cars you could feel them, they had a presence, they were special, filling you with excitement. it’s an unexplainable feeling that you can only know if you have felt it.
I wish we could go back but we have to thank this channel for letting us experience these cars and drivers once again.
